Problem with the new Reply Box

The problem is, that the some text is lost when you post a long reply. For example, just now, in this thread, I wrote three paragraphs, and when I clicked 'post quick reply' all that was left was the half of the text that I quoted of the previous post ..
I was like WTF .. .. just happened ? ..


This is really annoying (<_<), and this is not the first time but this time this thing really pissed me off <_<. Also when the text is edited, same problem occurs ..

Sounds like a timeout issue with yoru connection or something and the new text box only posting previously Auto-Saved text.

Try switching browsers. Its fine on Chrome and Opera

I cleared all the browsing data, download history, empty cache, delete cookies ..

I have never faced any such problem nor I heard any complaint from other members regarding this issue..

You can try a Firefox plugin called 'Lazarus' that stores all your typed in text, so that even if you pull the plug on your PC, you can still go back and restore the typed text .. :wink2:

The thing is that new textbox plugin is a pain for me. When it loads, I cant see the cursor on it. When I start typing and want to goto next line, instead of getting to next line after pressing enter it shifts the current line down and make a new line up and then I cant shift my cursor up. Sometimes this problems gets that worse that I have to close the post/reply and then do it after sometime. Usually it takes me like 5 6 refresh attempts to finally get the new textbox working. Used it with Chrome,Mozilla 4, Mozilla 3.6(Currently)

I dont know about this problem but several users including me having been facing trouble with this new shout box.
Previous one was better because it was very light weight and wont take more than the blink of an eye to load and you'd start typing text instantly. BB Codes (was in opera only) was a plus sign for person like me).

This one responds kinda slow. Usually it takes about 2-3 seconds to load and sometimes when you are not getting good speeds on internet, it will take about 10 seconds to load properly.
Switching to Editor Mode EVERYTIME in this shout box is really a pain in the arse for me.

Browsing the webpage on Mobile Phone (with Android Browser or Opera Mobile) has same issue i.e. slow shoutbox loading. (slow = 2-3 seconds more than the simple one)


I know it takes time to get a hang of any new thing, but its about time i should take my complaints about this shout box out. Eventhough i know no one would care about it because several other people are fine with it.

Bilal Bhai! I just want an Option in Profile where i could turn this damn shoutbox OFF .... Please.

Well, I faced this problem so mentioned it here. (and it wasn't just a single time)

Recommend me an extension of chrome, I don't use Firefox much, chrome is the thing.

That's true, when sometimes getting a slow speed, the whole page opens but the reply-box takes quite a bit of time.

The only problem I've been facing with the Reply Box was that if you copy paste text from this new reply box to this same reply box, the colour/font etc everything changes when you click post :S

Secondly, with HTML linking, when you post a link on some context, after posting the link, if you type anything, the first letter will contain the hyper-link...
Not that it affects the link itself but I find it annoying...

Well, until, it's not interfering with the posting it's okay.

But, it IS a flaw in the new reply-box.
