Just got a New PC, the specs are quite good But the issue is that when i searched online it said that my motherboard has a PCI - express ( REVISIED ) 1.1, now most of the graphic cards require PCI-E 2.0, when i opened the box it said in the diagram that my motheroard has a pci-e 2.0 x 16 slot, im confused... which is it??

And what does PCI-E REVISED 1.1 mean...

thread moved
reason : you made thread in wrong section
& you can easily run all the pci-ex 2.0 cards on pci-ex 1.0 or 1.1 slot

g41 chipset has pci-express 1.1 so ur board has pci-express 1.1 too,btw it doesnt really effect performance
Ha ha ha bro either u people are too genius or the COMPANIES who make these GPUs and write pci-e 2.0 RECOMMENDED are fool. Have anyone of u tested urself this thing?
I have tested my 460GTX on ASUS P5K-VM (pci-e 1.0 or 1.1) and ASUS P5QD Turbo (pci-e 2.0) and there is a huge performance difference in games like Call of duty etc etc

PCI express 1.0 or 1.1 will not effect your gamming performance unless you have a very high end card like gtx 580 or hd 6970 running in pci e 1.1 slot will limit its performance due to bandwidth limitation, and in you case it will not effect the performance...

It depends on the GPU as a High End Card will get bottlenecked on PCI E 1.1 but Mid Range to Low End Cards will work just fine

Well that settles it then

PCI E 2.0 X8 ~ PCI E 1.1 X16

2% Performance difference on a GTX480
anything below will have an even less performance difference

This is going to be in your face idiot!

Just check, performance difference is only 2% b/w PCI express v2.0 x8 (Same as PCI express x16 v1.1 ) and PCI express v2.0 x16x

For reference read this article;

GTX 480 tested (New enough? :p and high end gpu)

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GTX_480_PCI-Express_Scaling/1.html

AMD Radeon HD 5870

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/HD_5870_PCI-Express_Scaling/25.html

Bro with due respect have u tested it urself? Nooooooooo
I have tested it myself u r a information based child
and i have done it practically. Can u please answer why the companies write pci-e 2.0 recommended?

to fool potential buyers into upgrading their motherboards?

And do u honestly think ppl are going to believe ur claims over techpowerup's review?
