Gotta love how the tiny weiner-big ego gamers are doing a good job at exposing the toxic gamer culture. [emoji14] The plus side is that the game developers are better
and more enlightened. Gamers will have to catch up eventually or keep whining.
This guy is probably a mentally ill school shooting American. Might be a republican too [emoji14]

Wish it was an exception and not something common but it is pretty common. Many games that try to represent social equality and are inclusive of different people face a toxic reaction from a vast majority of gamers. But then, why assume that gamers are a better lot? That would be group bias. These people create a hostile gaming culture that keeps away a lot of people from gaming, particularly women and sexual minorities considering some of the recent reactions to some games. But as I said, the good thing is that they are losing but game devs and progressive gamers are doing a great job against them.

Rockstar providing their own quick tips :

https://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/60675/Red-Dead-Redemption-2-Quick-Tips
Here are a few quick and helpful Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay tips below that we've rounded up to help you make the most of your life in the West...

  • Lost Your Hat? - If you find yourself hatless at the end of a hard day's gunslinging, Arthur's Hat can be recovered simply by standing next to or mounting your horse, holding L1 and tapping R1 to bring up the Horse Wheel.
  • Faster Looting - Hold down the Square/X button to continually loot multiple items from chests and containers.
  • Quick View Map - Hold down Options/Menu button to view your map instantly.
  • Alternate Controls - In the game's Controls Menu, there are a number of pre-set control schemes and options including the ability to alter your sprint controls.
  • Horse Melee - You can hold and release Circle/B to melee from horseback.
  • Aiming Down Sights - Tap down on the D-pad while aiming in first person to look down your sights. This also works for scoped weapons by aiming in third person.
  • Lost A Legendary Pelt? - If you misplace a legendary animal pelt out in the wild, it will automatically be delivered to the Trapper.
  • Hands-Free Travel - Simply navigate to a main road, set a waypoint on your map and build up some speed before switching to Cinematic Camera to travel hands-free.
  • Warning Shot - To fire a shot up in the air, simply hold L2/LT then tap up on the D-pad before firing. Useful for warning shots, intimidating witnesses and more...

Am i the only one playing this game like a freakin hunting sim ? For some reason, I am completely obsessed with hunting legendary and perfect animals and crafting upgrades from them. I think I have played for 35 hours and still on the initial stages of chapter 3. Love this game !!!!!

Also, has anyone attended the theatre at Saint Denis ??? My god, that theatre is evident of how much effort R* puts into stuff that other developers let go off easily. I mean the whole show is around 5-7 mins of some pretty entertaining stuff. You can also Boo or cheer the performers, not only that, your boos and cheers are context sensitive too. Sassy work R*(y)

This is me..I am busy helping strangers, completing side missions and will play a main mission only when I run into it ( i.e go back to camp to give food, or some other reason) ...playing chapter 3...but playing it since the day it came out

Lol this is exactly how I go about. I do NOT want to miss any side mission in this game so every time there is a white blimp on the map i run towards it instead of focusing on the main missions. This one time I got late for a side mission (photography one) and it disappeared so i had to load an earlier save file just so i do not lose on the side mission. The quality of side missions in this game is beyond fantastic.

I feel in a way that the emphasis on the quality of secondary missions lately by a lot of studios is because of Witcher 3. R* has upped the ante' though, bringing in a lot more polish to the secondary mission design this time around.

I share the sentiments with venom. I am hooked on the world design, and most of my time goes in noticing the tiny details. Haven't played in over 10 days because of work so I have a serious RDR2 withdrawal.. so looking forward to play it again this weekend.

I was pretty mad that I lost the Legendary Bear Pelt which you get after a main mission.
NaNoW - if you decide to have a PG Podcast involving this game, count me in.

Senior animator at EA compares input times for several games:

Bungie leading the pack. Thats really impressive.

I guesstimated RDR2 over 200ms but according to this graph the input lag (including controller and display) is over 350ms in RDR2. How is this even considered playable?

^ Destiny is also probably the least complex of the games he tested :p

RDR 2 relies very heavily on thousands of canned unique animations and very heavy reliance on auto aim during combat. Lord have mercy on anyone whose playing RDR2 with free-aim combat.

The game definitely has a lot of input lag, reminds me of the KZ2 fiasco. But since this isn't a (online) FPS it is still playable. Still I can't imagine trying to free-aim in this game :p

Has anyone done any treasure map hunts? Started doing the Jack Hall Gang yesterday. The treasure maps are really vague and you have you know the game locations inside-out to be able to match the map to the location.

Another way of saying RDR2 uses a heavily flawed approach lol

Ubisoft's motion matching implementation in For Honor is more complex than the animation system in RDR2, yet input delay isn't an issue there.

Yeah i got that map last week too. Tried looking for clues immediately as I thought it would be somewhere near to where i found the map. Went online to see where i was going wrong only to find out that the location was no where near me. Left it there to see if at a later point i do come across that location on my own. Haven't had any luck though.

Same here, tried looking in the area but it was a completely different place altogether.. and the chances that you come across the locations WHILE having the treasure map in mind are next to none. I dunno how R* intended players to solve these.

I am guessing there will be a popup notification whenever we are close to the treasure or maybe a journal entry but thats just a guess.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
