Came across the first Thunder Jaw last night. It was fucking huge... Took me around 10 odd tries to take him out. God damn this game is super addictive.

Hey if nothing else GG can share some insight on optimizing the console port of Cyberpunk.

Yeah , GG owes them that much atleast and should the need arise to disable water and foliage interaction, GG will be the first one they'd call

Man this game looks GOOD. I can't compare OG PS4 but the IQ and just about every aspect of the visuals in 4K is superb.

First 2 hours with the game have been somewhat disappointing.

Positives:

- Amazing visual fidelity for an open world game. Phenomenal volumetric cloud simulation and mist/fog in particular.
- decent bow & arrow/spear combat against robosaurs, until they get up close....

Negatives:

- ....and then you realize the melee mechanics are so mediocre. Guess I've just been playing too much of games with great mechanics as of late, namely Nioh, Uncharted 4, and Overwatch.
- Cliched storyline with some cringeworthy tropes.

Aloy shown transitioning to a grown up state during training while leaping across a cliff....really?

I guess this will be an okay time killer while I wait for my Nintendo Switch.

@CerebralTiger while the melee does infact feel mediocre, a little more progression in the game would make you feel that it has virtually no use at all apart from overriding and silent hits. It does so little damage to the more powerful machines that you'll be much better off hitting them at distance.

I feel like we're speccing in different ways. You and CT seem to be inclined towards playing this like Hunger Games I'm playing it like Apocalypto.

I've specced the 'meelee drops parts from machines' 'melee knocks enemies down quicker' 'more critical attack damage' and the '15% damage increase for all silent attacks' skills and pretty much a single heavy attack knocks down all small machines and I can go in R1 for the critical attack kill. I'm using the bow pretty little, mostly far-crying it with stealth and spear with bow and arrows only for human enemies (1 shot headshots).

Ps. You can do a side quest very early in the game which ends with the quest giver taking your spear and adding more damage to it. I'm 100% sure there will be more like that later on in the game cause the robutts are starting to get bigger and bigger the more I go away from the starting area

Oh yes my skill points have gone to the complete opposite. Apart from the Critical hit I haven't spent a single point in that column. Do the heavy attacks knock down larger machines like the Snapmaw, Sawtooth etc as well? That would be too OP imo though.

Yep, I had to do a side quest which ended up with me fighting 2 sawtooths at the same time. There's a bit of percentage ratio applied to it but with the skill which increases the knockdown capability, you can knock down even saw tooths with two or 3 heavy attacks. The key is timing it because the heavy attack is very slow, they're much faster than you and Aloy takes a shit ton of damage even with the medium katja armor. The light attack don't do shit to them.

Heavy + roll + Heavy and hope they get knocked down + critical to weak point for massive damage

It's .. sort of like how you'd play Dark Souls to be honest

Although I've seen a lot of people saying how they're exclusively playing this with the bow and arrow, the game offers you a ton of status attack options too, so there's no right or wrong way to play it.

Not for me though. Doubt it

I also have The Witcher 3 with all DLCs waiting to be played but then I keep getting caught with upcoming games to review, lol. It is a never ending struggle of finding time and one of the reason I never bought Nioh.

Yeah, I'm gonna stick to long-range combat for now. The bow/arrow gameplay's solid, and I also like that the dodge roll is pretty responsive and covers a large distance. Makes it easier to maintain distance from the robosaurs.

trust me..both studios have shared more than a few developers between them. Since Poland and Netherlands are both in the EU, their workers have complete freedom of movement, dont need any special permit, live or work in either countries..so its like going from one city to another...I know 2 devs who worked on W3 and horizon..god knows how many more there are.

J.F.C this game is just fucking something else graphically. I don't think I've been wowed visually just walking around like this in any other game to date.
