Lolz what vidal has to do with it , vice captain is never guaranteed starter . Infact vice captain has very little value .

With Vidic gone, the position of "Club Captain" is still open as far as I know.

Not sure. But yeah, van Persie might be the most vocal one. Rooney is certainly shy and quite.

Anyway, I personally think people put too much emphasis on the captaincy thing. After Roy Keane left, we had Gary Neville, Giggs, Rio and later on Vidic & Evra as well, all of them were vocal and commanded huge respect in the dressing room and the pitch. We don't have characters like that anymore. Rooney and Fletcher have been made captain and vice-captain respectively, only because they are the most senior players and have been here for many years.

Rooney is only shy in front of media , he is very vocal on pitch and in dressing room kinda serious guy not much of a funny person , plus not many senior around he will unleash fire , Rvp probably will struggle cause he isn't with club for many years and many would have felt LVG preferring him cause he is Dutch .

Although I thought Evans Shuld have been given vice captain role .
Seeing last night game what I saw Herrera then , fellaini , were given roles to tell midfield what to do , pointing fingers to pass backward or forward , pretty much same role as defender captain has organising his defence.

In LvG's first press conference, he looked devastated when announcing that Carrick will be out 'for a long time - too long'. I think if Carrick wasn't injured, he would have been given the captaincy, no doubt about that. Rooney was the next most logical choice, but yeah Evans could've been vice-captain as well.

carrick would have been a horrible captain.... he's just not that vocal.... for me, the choice was always between rooney and van persie.... i'm a bit surprised by the vice captain decision, but Fletcher has been stellar in the pre-season...

Its excruciating to see Liverpool not sign a marquee player yet. I'm really tired of the 'We don't buy stars, we make them' bullshit. Though I believe in Rodgers, he has so far signed relatively unknown player. I mean seeing Lallana came to us for 25m and Kross went to RM for 24m is really painful to watch. Reus has been linked, though I doubt he is coming. Emphasis this season seems to be on building a good functioning team, but I hope mistakes like last season's aren't repeated.
