Played against a 6k rank guy today. Mid sf vs invoker. My invoker, he farms so perfectly, so perfectly, so perfectly. I was like jkadfhajdksghuiowthjskadghsdfjk.
Was there a venomancer on his team? How did you get ranked against a 6k player? Also, was his nick " Teehee "

Umm you ARE the support guy..

Anyway, couple of very interesting games last night :)

A team of Drow, Beast Master, Vengeful Spirit, Witch Doctor and Lycan did Roshan at the start of the game. What happened after that was something I'd never seen before. They went all mid. We were like.. oh that's OK we'll get XP advantage and shit.

They took tier 1. When they started on tier 2, we TP'd there but there was simply no stopping them. Witch doctor had his heal constantly on and all those auras and creep.. Our mid rax were down at around 7 minutes. Game over in 20.

By the end, they had 4 necronomicons. We even won some great fights but their respawn timers were so short that our ultimates stayed on CD during their pushes. I was absolutely dumbfounded. Never seen that happen before.

Yeah... Happened with me last week. We managed to delay the game till 30min but 5 necro turds on you = impossible to push.

End score was 41 - 13 or something. 41 being our kills... ... ... ... ...

This actually happened in one the Korean games earlier this month. Imagine you outdraft the enemy team and get a lineup like that.

Anyway, the best counter for such strats are good counter pushers like KOTL. Also one needs to make sure you are also capable of taking down towers fast if they are pushing as 5man in one lane only.

I added one of those guys and checked their match history. They went the exact same lineup in the next game too.. Game over in 18 months.. Different result though :tv: It's all about the lineup.

Anyway, had a wonderful comeback game yesterday against a super-tanky strength lineup. Came back into the game from mega-creep + tier 4 down to take their tier 2 + 3 + 4 and eventually ancients :) Just good item choices and teamwork.

The armor stacking really helped a lot. Shiva on Doom, AC on me. Plus the halberd on huskar and ofc the hero batrider itself provided enough disables for us to eventually overpower them. It was one of those games that you rarely get these days but it gives you that boost that you so need to keep playing this frustrating game.

Both Navi and Alliance out of starladder o_O

Didn't see that one coming. Even when Navi were down 7k, I was hoping they would pull of a miraculous comeback. Funn1k had next to no impact throughout the tournament. Overall, I think that Navi made too many mistakes. Xbcot was also quite inconsistent and it seems that whenever he failed, Na'vi failed.

Next-level pre-international tactics by NaVi :p They're laying low :tv:

I think dota pro games these days are like league football games. The skill difference between the teams isn't big enough to allow the slightly better team to make mistakes and get away with them. This TI will be very exciting.

Stupid dota. Sometimes one just wants to leave the game cause of the damned matchmaking and a few people in the community. But then comes a moment due to which your faith in dota is restored and that moment did come today.

Was playing a luna, our leshrac left the game and it was 4vs5. The other team kept taunting us to leave but we didn't, after losing 2 teamfights we managed an amazing come back with a wonderful blackhole and eclipse perfectly executed. From then on the tides turned in our favour and we won the game.

Picks were, my team (Radiant): Luna, Ember, Shadow Shaman, Enigma
Dire: Tinker, Axe, Chaos Knight, Ancient Apparition, Weaver

Found this particularly post link on reddit:

DotaROOT • View thread - Common Matchmaking Misconceptions and Oversights

frankly it was a bit too long but one important thing I gleamed from it (and something I constantly do wrong in ranked) is 'sticking with your top tier heroes'.

proof positive; I started playing jungling Lycan recently and I was surprised how efficient he is in demolishing his way to victory! so far have tested him in more than a dozen games and comes out flawlessly in all except the ones with absolute retards.

Jungling Lycan is bad. Your team plays 4v5 for the majority of the early game and it's really easy to disrupt the farm. Laning is faster for him anyway.

What sl33py said, Jungling Lycan was common when the wolves had high hp and you could jungle much faster without having mana problems.

Providing lane experience and farm allows him to snow ball early.

Majority of the game? Well I guess most games don't last longer than 15 minutes, because a GOOD lycan doesn't need to spend more than 7 minutes in the jungle to farm his vlads. After that you can take rosh and an early T1 to give your team free gold allowing the whole team to snowball.

That's still higher than it's total play length. A 5 hour campaign for a $50 game is downright scammy.

I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.
