It would be a brave man to bet against Federer winning the tournament at this point, that's for sure.

I saw the match, and Nadal was very poor. R-Fed, Tsonga, Ferrer, and Djoker. Decent lineup. Will be interesting. R-Fed wasn't that great when he played Mardy Fish in the game after he Abuses will lead to ban slapped Nadal either. Possibly because he knew he was already through, but you don't let yourself get pushed to three sets in a dead rubber - fatigue/etc.

Yeah, David Ferrer has been the surprise of the tournament so far. Could be interesting to see how he does against R-Fed. I'd forgotten all about Berdych when I was thinking of the final four. Things could get really interesting...

Both Nadal and Djokovic out. That would make for some great headlines!

to be fair to ferrer, he has played some delightful tennis this season.... i used to dislike him for his overly defensive, sort of murray-like, approach to the game... but he has surprised me this past season....

I never thought too much about him because he has always been seen as the atypical clay court specialist type of player. That was primarily why I thought he was the surprise of the tournament. I thought he would struggle on the indoor surface used for this tournament, but he looks to have raised his game on the other surfaces this season.

Berdych beats Ferrer in three sets. Both Nadal and Djok are out!

so berdych steals the final spot on the last day.... how is it though? is it based on number of sets won/lost or number of games? cuz they've both won 5 sets and ferrer has lost 3 fewer

Looking at the standings;

1 Tomas Berdych 2-1 5-4 46-43
2 David Ferrer 2-1 5-2 37-29

Ferrer has lost fewer sets, but I think Berdych nicked the group because he beat Ferrer (head to head record). That has to be it. Can't think of another reason.

Federer is playing as good as I've seen him play. He will win surely...

The season took its toll on Djoker and Rafa, maybe Murray as well.

makes sense.... so now, it's not the federer berdych matchup we expected.... berdych vs tsonga and federer vs ferrer... interesting match-ups there..... berdych and federer final for me....

Missed the match. Was watching the Stoke vs. Blackburn snoozefest. =/

It would be nice to see Tsonga back in the final, and get another shot at beating Federer which he has done in the past year.

Federer was sweet as chocolate like always. Ferrer, who beat Djokovic and Murray with ease, could not stand against him. 1st set was close, but 2nd was just a pudding for RF.

Good news - RF just leapfrogged Andy Murray in Rankings, he gets No.3 now.

I don't care who wins, Tsonga or Berdych, he has beaten Tsonga just now, and going good against Berdych in in this surface. RF will be the clean win in this tournament.
