It doesn't matter which PS3 you got, but which country's PSN ID you have. Its not on the PAL PSN, so I'm downloading from the US PSN store.

mindfreak's already given you the link.

however i might add that i own the ntsc-j console as well. but i've downloaded the firmware from the european and american sites; doesn't seem to make a difference.

as to how to get it into your ps3; i use a flash disk myself.

create a folder called "PS3"

then create a sub-folder called "UPDATE"

and then add the .pup file into the folder.

remember; the "PS3" folder has to be in the root; i.e not within any folders but on the main disk itself.

then you just plug the usb disk into the ps3, go to system update tab, and choose "via storage device".

that's about it.

Some story :

I downloaded a 250MB PS3 update from a Dial-up connection when I got my PS3 . At that time , I didn't know about this method of where to place the file . So , I put the downloaded file in the root of PS3 . Plugged in the USB into the PS3 and couldn't update . After a long time confusion , I deleted the file because I thought that maybe the file was corrupted . Nice joke huh ? A 250 MB download with a DIAL-UP gone to waste .
