LF NTSC PS3 YLOD Repair service in karachi

Hey guys, I have a launch model 60gb NTSC PS3 from HongKong. A couple of months ago, it died on me, got the YLOD, power LED turns green from red then yellow, beeps 3 times then back to flashing red. I contacted sony support, but they cant do anything with an NTSC model, only PAL models in Pak.

I even took my PS3 to KSA, it was a nightmare to travel with it in a hand carry, packed it tightly, but had to open it up 3 times, sadly though, they wont repair it, since Saudi Arabia is a PAL region aswell. i've been all over Jeddah looking for someone to repair it, but to no avail.

I have given up on this unit, and since im close to writing it off, i thought, maybe there is some sort of a jugaar here in karachi, some cheetah repairguy, who can take a look at it and fix it. Im sure PAL and NTSC parts must be interchangable, its just sony's policy not to repair other region models, so im hoping that my unit can be diagnosed and fixed here.

If anyone has any leads on some reliable technician, please reply to this thread with his details. Im looking to get this fixed with my HDD data intact and also there is a BD game stuck inside it, so therefore i need a reliable repairguy who is trustworthy.

Urgent assistance required - PS3 shuts off

Can someone please help me. I am freaking out here. I have a [FONT=verdana,arial,helvetica]Sony Playstation 3 Console (40GB Version), and its been running fine for about a year now. Unfortunately it has just started to shut off automatically in the middle of games. Just today, I'll play for about 2 hours and it will shut down every 5 to ten minutes. It freezes for a second and just shuts off. No funny lights or anything, straight to red. It doesn't only happen during games, it happens if I am browsing the PS store as well. Oh, if this helps, problems only started once I installed SOCOM Confrontation.

I was hoping someone could advise me on the following:
- What is happening to it
- Can it be repaired
- Where can I get it repaired (i'm in Karachi)

An urgent response would be greatly appreciated. I am leaving the country on Sunday (short term posting in Africa) and I want to take it with me. Please help.

following may help you.

Did you notice blinking red light before it shuts down?
if yes than its cause is over heating.blow dust from of ps3 with a blower.

or try this

1:change main cord.
2: format your ps3,s hdd .
3: recover ps3 file system in recovery mod.

The ylod indicates hardware failure in general, it could be anything from the hard drive to the gpu. I would not recommend messing with it beyond trying another hard drive. And if you open up the ps3 Sony will not touch it, warranty or not.

Better give it to Sony to fix it if its still under warrenty. Otherwise, say bye bye.

could be the hdd , replace it and see what happens , if it boots up then it is ur hdd , if not then its internal hard ware issue .

how did it happen , any symptons .

which model do u have , when did u buy it , how many hours do u use it , etc

dust collecting on the fan is a common thing , some times it gets to much and blocks air flow , over heating is the main cause .

try the steps mentioned earlier , it should work ..
