Official AC Thread for Buying Air Conditioners

Planned today to buy PEL Desire 18KDM model. It looks beutiful and attractive. Don't know about its cooling capabilities as not brought anything made by PEL before. Have planned to buy Gree 18CZ9 modle but it is now not available any more.

According to my room theme I am looking to buy any good and realiable brand with Black colour Inner Unit. Please share your experience with PEL Desire if anyone has brought it...........

After through searching I have shortlisted PEL Desire 18KDM 1.5 ton for my room which has Black Colour theme. Previously planned to install Gree 18CZ9 but since it is now not available anymore so choosen another alternative here.

Please share your experience and any reviews of PEL Desire realiability and performance.

Finally brought today

PEL Desire 1.5 Tons for Rs 50k
Hitachi Malaysian 2 Tons for 95k

Both non inverter AC. Installation charges seprate. Will share reviews after installing in 2-3 days as room need white wash too.

If you don't have the money to buy Mitsubishi, buy Gree it's equal but no where less than Mitsubishi in cooling. Everything else is second or third, but these two brands are on the top for cooling.

Thanks for your advice all, Alhamdulillah got Dawlance LVS15 model 1 ton from Abid Market. This mdoel has low voltage stabilization plus anti rust.

Orient/Haier all are in similar range these days as official summer rush is yet to begin so get the ac you need now

Get a non inverter . reasons:

- inverter AC gas every year is 5500 rs (this years date)
- the inverter savings kick in only if you use the AC continuously for 8 hours to make any real impact in your bill. With our electricity I dont think you will be doing that.
- any incidental repairs start at around 8000 for these models.


Since you have a very good budget, try gree, panasonic, or mitsubishi heavy duty. Mitsubishi heavy duty series is all imported and assembled abroad.

Mitsubishi heavy duty is fully imported and assembled abroad. Other options popular are gree, panasonic, and electrolux.

Although I would not suggest inverter for 2 reasons:
- the saving of electricity is over few months if you are using ac daily for a long duration at least 8 hours. otherwise 19/20 difference hai.
- any gas refill will cost you 5500pkr at a minimum.

Guys, so if I am going to go for the cheapest 1 ton which brand should I put my faith in, Kenwood vs electrolux? what are your personal experiences with either brand?
