Noob need suggestion to buy a graphics card (gpu)

so as the title suggests I am completely noob in this gaming thing not a hardcore gamer but casually play some games when am free so we have upgraded our pc 3 years back even with intel hd graphics card i have played COD MW 3 Call of duty black ops fifa 12 and nfs hot pursuit games after upgrading our pc i was of the view tht my gaming needs are fulfilled but then i realize tht one need a gud graphics card to play some gud games my budget is low and i will need a graphics card which can play GTA IV call of duty upcoming games and fifa upcoming games and also the upcoming bradman cricket 14
my current pc specs are
core i3 2.93 ghz
i have 6gb ram in my computer but it shows like tht
RAM : 6GB (3.18GB) usable (also explain me this too)
and my budget is abt 7 to 8k

u must be using win 32 bit , change it to 64 bit so u can use all or ur ram
secondly ... in this budget , best option is to go for used 5770 or if u want new then 6670 is ur best option

how many years does these graphic cards can last
can these play max payne 3 like games

yes both of these can play any game on normal settings
and no one can assure u about their life bro , may be 1 hour or may be 5 years ( both in my case )

install a 64 bit operating system on your pc...
and dude no card is future proof ... these card will i think serve u better,.,, but dont expect to play new games on ULTRA settings...
and yeah it will surely play max payne 3
max payne kya battlefield 3 chal jaega
if your resolution 1280x1024 u can even play on medium to high settings

due to load shedding problem am usually using laptop nowadays i quite seldom use my pc am not sure wheter its 2.6 or 2.7 i will surely chek it tomorrow

I have hd 5770 ddr5 variant and i can play all latest games at good settings, max payne 3 i finished on my pentium dual processor with same graphic card, gta 4 also did run fine on pentium dual core,borderlands 2,sleeping dogs(gta type game must play)tropico 4,esVskyrim,assassin's creed 2,starcraft 2 both standalone games every thing worked fine, my resolution is 1600*900 you can check my pc spec. hd 5770 is still kicking-ass. and believe me new games looks good even on mid-high settings.

I suggest try to find hd5770 ddr5-6770 ddr5(both are same cards) or if you wan nVidia try to find gts 450.

They aren't, you can buy all of this cards in 8k used, that to ddr5 version! and please don't go with 2-3gb vram(graphic memory) gimmick, this graphic cards cannot utilize 2-3gb vram, 2-3gb vram are for higher end graphic cards like gtx460,560,660,760ti hd7850,7870,7950,7970,7990. for this mainsteam graphic cards 1gb is more than enough.
