Nokia N900 SMS/Contacts Name/Number Problem

Hello guys,

I recently purchased N900...The problem i am facing right now is in SMS conversation..

The SMS comes from people already in my contact but most of the times the number appear instead of name...here is the list what i already done..

1- Tried to merge contacts...
2- Delete multiple contacts..
3- put + sign instead of 00...

Their are few contacts the appears with name but sometimes they show the same problem too....

Plz i need help ...

I personally did not had this problem when I owned a N900 and I see you have already tried using +92 code. Have you tried deleting all contacts and adding them again ? Maybe try a factory reset ? You seem to have asked this question on Maemo.org forum as well so you've a better chance at getting help there.

Is there any chance that you need to synch all the contacts from SIM in the settings?

@GrunT ...I will try syncing them again...but i think their is something wrong in PB...i received call from my friend and only number was displayed.......and yes i hv posted the same question on maemo.org but surprisingly NO reply their ...

make phone read contacts only in phone not in sim and phone it solved problem for me on n97 they are not even close relatives but give it a try

its a problem or a feature in Nokia mobiles. Delete all contacts from sim and phone, if the same number is in 2 or more contacts then the name will not show...

i have this problem too (rare though). Where sometimes the number will appear in sms inbox instead of the contact name (even though they are stored in contacts ! )

I'M SERIOUsly disappointed by the software issues and in general, UI issues, long steps for basic stuff in my s60v5. Which is the reason this is going to be my last nokia phone ever

Moving to android or iOs soon!
