PC nex-gen gaming on PC ? confused

hearing a lot about nex-gen gaming this and that !
I'm wondering how would it effect PC gaming ?
I mean would I need to do a lot of upgrades to play nex gen games on pc ??
or is it better to get a console ??

currently I have coreI3(2.9) //gtx460// 5gigs ram//

U can play all the games till now..
ppl are playing games on Core2 Duo's still.
u still have a corei3 and it depends on what resolution....u are playing at.
soo there is no issues till now..!!!

m worried about games that will be coming later this year .. bf4 ,crew , and gta5 etc btw res=1600x900

Sir jee PC Gaming in so called Next-Gen Consoles say bauhat bauhat aggay hai, so no worries. Just get an Ass kicking GPU along with PSU and you are all good. These consoles are toys in front of our Beastly PC's.

i am also interested in ps4 (xbox one is bull crap) but the thing which back me off is lack of keyboard and mouse support (which to me is the core of gaming) with which seems like all things are in your control where controller is not fun at all other wise next gen gaming on PS4 = FTW

Depends on how you want to play those games......If you are a "low or medium" settings player then you may be able to play some of the new titles....but let me tell you this...games like Battlefield...(who dont use physx)...they rape CPUs to render physics...i highly doubt you will be able to play battlefield 4 without lag spikes.

okay here is the deal...there is a way you can play BF3 on low settings and still make it look darn good....select low settings from in-game graphics option ...and then install a custom FXAA loader...just google "fxaa injector danoc" it fixes alot of things ...and with this tool BF3 looks AMAZING even on low settings....cant comment on bf4....but since its the same engine maybe you will be able to apply the same trick there

they are not based on same engine , BF3 is on Frostbite 2 while BF4 is on Frostbite 3 .

They are pretty much the same engines.... adding bit more destruction and graphic tweaks and calling it "FROSTBITE 3" ......who will buy that after watching LIVE DEMO of bf4 @ E3....heck they didnt even remove that ugly blue tint........now dont get me wrong here battlefield is a very nice looking game...you might have noticed that Some addon maps look way better than the base game...they have more buildings more destruction...more effects....Battlefield had sold 4,5 expansion packs already and needed a reason to sell more as Ppl stopped buying expansions after armored kill.....there are hardly any servers running aftermath........i think bf4 is "NOT" a sequel...just a new name for the same old game .......

I was EXTREMELY diappointed after watching bf4 gameplay videos....Other than the skyscrapper falling down + new boat part....aur kuch naya tha hi nahi...
