Guys if u got moded Xbox 360 then Don't Update to New Xbox LIVE dashboard..... This will disable your mod so u cant play pirated games anymore.....

MS have found a way to stop backup games and it seems like Microsoft added new protections to it. Several users seems to report problems booting certain games from recordable media on 360s with a modified DVD FW.
One of the titles affected seems to be Fable III. The game boots fine from any media on the current dashboard (9199) on a 360 with modified FW, but fails to boot from recordable media on the leaked/12606 beta dashboard; “This disc is unreadable” – while the retail disc will work just fine

Within the new update it has been revealed that firmware information for the consoles disc drive and its connection to Xbox Live can be monitored. This would send information to Microsoft and allow for greater monitoring of modded drives that play pirated games, alterations of drive firmware would then result in an instant console ban.

Crap! So now if Microsoft makes the download compulsory on new games we wont be able to play them?

I'd be careful of the hacks xboyhot and modmaster are offering for the slim...they might play pirated games on the current fw but I contacted both of them and they said their hacks weren't safe for xbl.

Recommendation: If you have the slim, wait for xecuter's LT+ - they're taking care of live xbl and cache checks. A new wave of banning is probably on the way with the release of the kinect. Bite the bullet and wait!

its about time we clear this bullshit.. the new 360 is not SLIm or 360 S or anything and the old 360 is not fat 360, the new one is almost just as fat and just as ugly as the old one

Microsoft's Fall Xbox Live update will become available for download on Monday, November 1.

Announced via e-mail, the update, which has been in beta testing for many weeks, includes a new look for the system dashboard, Kinect support, and additional features, such as ESPN programming and added access to the Zune Marketplace, including Zune Pass music streaming functionality.

Microsoft also issued a list of additional upgrades and changes earlier this month, such as improved voice chat quality and improvement to the Xbox Live Marketplace interface.

Members who decline to download the update will be unable to connect to Xbox Live. Microsoft says the update should take somewhere between 5 to 10 minutes to download.

Can I un-mod my un-banned xbox 360 and go for live?

Also, if we go live tomorrow, we will be banned as we have always been, right? Just that we won't be able to go to Live. Offline gaming will be there. Am I correct?
