Artist: Leitbur
Album: You And I Could Rule The World
Genre: Synth pop / Electro pop / Techno
Year: 2010

USA

Track list:

1.Eye of the Storm 04:32
2.Work This Out 03:19
3.A Girl From Mexico 03:33
4.You and I Could Rule the World 04:06
5.I Walk With Ghosts Today 05:18

10.Shine 04:02
11.On the Far Side 06:29

Spoiler: show

Cutting a long story short, the sample synth melody came to my ears late at night at a grocery shop, the time when i stepped in the track was already on air at Woolies store. I was bit numb for a sec as synthpop was laid to rest few years back in Oz but on the other hand was feeling enthusiastic to know this genre upturn. A welcome world where dreams start thats what i reacted after finding this release on the net.

Music represents an analog synthpop / electroclash with brilliant lyrics, lyrics of love and joy. Album opens quite good with 'Eye of the Storm'. A very interesting single! Very electro-synth-tastic! the next three songs were heard in hour time, then the fourth 'You and I Could Rule the World' was so uplifting and the result was very light as cotton candy, lyrically beautiful, very stylish music and complete delight!

Those romantic, hysterical, bitter-sweet melodic sound that 'I Walk With Ghosts Today' had was enough to smell the dust having it's first rain drop. 'Look Alive' feels the late Michael Hutchence of INXS came to life with quality mid tempo synths.Whiny vocals have never sounded so good, believe me on track 7 'More Than Friends'. Here comes piano play a joie de vivre feeling on Tangled and same impressive vocals, a pure sweet melodic sound. 'Siren 's Cal' cool slow synth ballad. The final two tracks were also turned out not just intact, but upright monolithic.

Also not to forget the game ... 'Mario' animation video of 'Work This Out' .. amateur but still a retro look somewhat luminous ... liked it.

The album should be a commercial success, chances are bleak, wait a moment did someone said ... 'owl city', yeah! anything is possible, not to forget this artist is American so hoping he gets same approbation more of what owl city attained.

In general, album, left a very pleasant experience. And I recommend to anyone familiar with it, it's worth it.

Here are my impressions of the second full-length album of Swedish Band 'In Mourning'.

The whole album is Beautiful, melancholic, majestic and slight touch of melodic doom metal. It's Juicy, balanced sound. Bold, I would even say, arbitrary treatment of dissonance, thundering growl and scream of T.Netzill like a spitting acid in the ears.

My picks:

Debris
The Smoke
The Shade of Plague

Significant advantage: The album is unobtrusive. 59-min approx material does not have time to get bored with the first listening.

Rating: 4/5

@Ahmad: Thanks for the music share, mate! Keep it up!

Band/Artist: IAMX ft. Imogen Heap
Single: My Secret Friend
Album: Kingdom of Welcome Addiction (Late 2009)
Genre: Electronic / Indie
Year: 2010

England

Spoiler: show

IAMX's Chris Corner and Imogen Heap duet on "My Secret Friend," a haunting, slow-churning electro pop gem that is accompanied by a gender-bending video that is equally mesmerizing. Dark and perhaps even a little disturbing that shows Imogen like we've never seen her before.

My Secret Friend" is taken from IAMX's recent album "Kingdom of Welcome Addiction." Chris and Imogen struck a friendship in Europe."Imogen was an acquaintance from my time in London who ironically became familiar with IAMX after I moved away to Berlin," Chris says of his singing partner. "I looked deeper into her own projects and connected instantly with her strength, talent and independent spirit. Her world was a little more refined and cleaner than mine, so I thought it would make sense to drag her into the IAMX gutter for this track."

The two shared some special moments during the recording of the video. "I directed it and we filmed it in my old ruined GDR [East Germany] building just outside Berlin," Chris explains. "There were some special moments - me running around like a modern day Ed Wood in full doll outfit trying to seriously direct... Imogen in full man suit soaked, standing in cold water at night for hours on the brink of catching pneumonia, drunk on Jaegermeister. She completely let go and dealt with her demons. I have never seen her like that."

source: http://www.arjanwrites.com/arjanwrites/2009/10/iamx-and-imogen-heap-duet-on-my-secret-friend.html

In my opinion, This is the best work of IAMX. Smooth-sounding single well adjusted for each other. This is not entirely an old-school electronic, but a newfangled Indie-futurepop. A fully electronic drive, without any mixture of guitars, to the best of a tough, cold with a male/female vocals, with excellent arrangements.

Overall impression: unhurried music, filled with radiant sorrow with colorful video. Pretty easy to IAMX and Imogen Heap duet 'My Secret Friend' pull on gratifying points, it is the score they deserved.

Listen and enjoy.

Artists: Ela Rose & Gino Manzotti
Single: No U No Love
Genre: Dance
Year: 2010

Romania

Spoiler: show

Lyrics:

I can’t touch the love
There’s no percent and i am cold
A mind of thoughts won’t let you in
Only feel your hand on me
Your name its running through my mind
I won’t let me say it loud
There are no memories to hold on
You watchin me fall on my own…
No you no love won’t feel
then fallow fallow fallow fallow me
I know there’s no one next to me
I stair it through tears like my heart
I keep my outah tapin me
Vivid my certainess talkin glass
Your name its running through my mind
I won’t let me say it loud
There are no memories to hold on
You watchin’ me fall on my own…
No you no love won’t feel
then fallow fallow fallow fallow
No love no you won’t feel
then fallow fallow fallow fallow
then fallow fallow fallow fallow me

Music can be done in different ways: someone does just to sell, someone just for the soul, but the majority of musicians like 'Gino Manzotti' of Dj Project work for success. Here on this single Ela Rose, a new face in Romanian Dance scene taking vocal help Manzotti tried his level best to come up with a true Romanian dance tune.

Not that bad, actually he did succeed in this act.Technically, everything is done at a high level. quite catchy, good electronic arrangements but, here comes the knock, knock part .... 'Paul Oakenfold feat. Matt Goss - Firefly', a glimpse of music style in this treat. in other words it's some what same in rhythm and compositional structure.

Video for this song, so vibrant ... nice-looking E.Rose in the opening and then comes sequence of steps from the extras.

overall: single is catchy but 3.33 min not enough .... want more.

-1.0 point slashed, copied composition
-0.5 point slashed, should've added an extra min to the song. Total playing time,a min or so missing. (my op)

Partie Traumatic- Black Kids
2008
USA
Indie Pop/Alternatice Dance/Indie Rock

Owen Holmes – bass guitar
Kevin Snow – drums
Dawn Watley – keyboards and vocals
Ali Youngblood – keyboards and vocals
Reggie Youngblood – guitar and vocals
Black Kids is an Indie band from Jaksonville, USA. This 'Partie Traumatic' is their first full-length album. Although, released in 2008, I got to know about it very lately. Ironic part starts from the album's name itself. The album supposedly derived it's name from an instructional DVD by Artie Traum

Beautifully crafter indie pop mixtured with dance fundamentals. The first single from the album 'I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance' is great and pure pop. According to one of the band-player - the song was inspired by life-like parties where they ended up getting with girls who couldn't dance. The song is meaningful too somehow.

You Are The Girl That I've Been Dreaming Of Ever Since I Was A Little Girl

The second single 'Hurricane Jane' is too very bubbly pop.Actually discovered randomly on the web. From then, it became my Friday Anthem.

It's Friday night and I ain't got nobody.
Oh, what's the use of making a bed?

Other songs worth sharing; first including the song unanimous with the name of album, that's right "Partie Traumatic" secondly, "Hit The Heartbrakes".

The vocals and bass riffs are pretty good infact Reggie Youngblood has a gifted voice. In the background, you hear some good backing vocals too. The drum beats are okayish too.

Genre: SID Metal
Release: 2010
Country: Sweden

Tracklist:

1. A View From The End Of The World
2. Force Feedback
3. Rocket Dragon
4. Persona
5. Nova Prospekt
6. World Of Light
7. Shinigami
8. Cybergenesis

10. Crouching Camper Hidden Sniper
11. Indiscriminate Murder Is Counter-Productive
12. One Day In The Universe
13. The Greatest Show On Earth
14. Remnant (March Of The Undead IV)

Comments: The cover art looks so sexy! Anyways, lemme explain SID Metal. Many of the band's songs use a SidStation that features the SID chip of the Commodore 64. That means Heavy Metal + Retro Videogames funk = Pure Win? HELL YES!

The band was formed on the basis of Punk, Power Metal and Videogames! The given song is the perfect example:

Here are my views on their newest album:

+ Brilliant songs, each and everyone is related to videogames, media , technology, anime, etc.
+ It's heavy and it grows on you quickly.
+ Lots of variety. And it's very power-retro!
+ Lyrics are very impressive.
+ References to videogames are just outright awesome for e.g "Nova Prospekt" and "Crouching Camper Hidden Sniper".

-+ Gazz's whiny vocals are not mind-blowing, but fit in perfectly as they are. It's almost like as if he's in his own opera.

Rating: 4.5/5

Band: Ektomorf
Album: Redemption
Genre: Thrash Metal / Groove Metal
Year: 2010

Hungary

Track list:

1. Last Fight
2. Redemption
3. I’m in Hate
4. God Wil Cut You Down
5. Stay Away
6. Never Should
7. Sea of My Misery
8. The One
9. Revolution
10. Cigany
11. Stigmatized
12. Anger

Spoiler: show

Zoltan is back! Hail True Metal! That's quite the right words for their 9th studio release 'Redemption'. An aggressive compact songs dealing with the frustrations, discrimination and fury.

Redemption starts with a soft piano intro that ends with a decrescendo. After the intro fades away they immediately insert their groove orientated riffs, setting the tone for the rest of the album. I must admit it sounds really catchy at first. But after a second listen you'll realize its very shallow. The same goes for the lyrics and vocals. The praised social awareness in their lyrics is gone. In fact they resort to nu-metal like themes, that most of time go about how somebody fucked up your live and that you can't take it anymore. A hilarious example of this fact is the song: ' stay away' . Another notable thing is the way the lead-singer uses his vocals. Sometimes he swaps to clean semi-rapping vocals which sounds like Zack De La Rocha (from Rage Against The Machine) with a huge Hungarian accent. It's actually kinda funny to listen to.

I can understand that many people will like this album. It's catchy, shallow, it contains lots of energy and the riffs sound tight. Therefor if you like simple catchy metal this is a absolute must. If not, you better stay away from this album.

http://www.metalrage.com/reviews/3369/ektomorf-redemption.html
Proceed directly to my musical material experience. Opening song is a cracker. Very aggressive yet emotional and colorful music, makes a strong impression on the listener of various metal class. Nice thrust BG video. The new tracks such as 'Revolution, I'm In Hate, Stigmatized' seemed to blossom in their bright and dazzling rays, each composition is derived ideally, every sound, every breath. At the same time easy atmosphere needed to create a specific mood.

Killer Tracks:

Last Fight
Redemption
I’m In Hate
The One (feat. Danko Jones)
Revolution
Stigmatized
Anger
Pros: The album is very good, loud and heavy riffs ... so complete and bright.

Cons: KoRn musical element present with an outlandish accent.

In General: The album will become a bright spot in a world of Melodic-Groove/Thrash Metal with a unique vitality and relevance of the material presented on the disc.

Good news for fans of the 80's New Wave prestige band 'Duran Duran' as they've come up with a new 13th studio release.

The members of Duran Duran have so much tonsorial-based ozone depletion in their collective histories, it may seem odd to compare their career trajectory to that of a gritty, woozy prize fighter. But the truth is, Duran Duran have had their asses handed to them time and again by critics and an often disinterested public when it comes to their recorded works since the first few albums. Every now and again an “Ordinary World” pops up and makes everyone take notice, but for the most part Duran Duran has fought the battle for contemporary relevancy to exponentially smaller crowds. It’s the best album Duran Duran has released since then, a collection that manages what their best material always has, blending art with grand gestures and popcraft. It’s nine songs full of the promise and thrill of 1981-83.
http://www.popmatters.com/pm/review/134522-duran-duran-all-you-need-is-now/
Well, let's start with the music. It's beautiful. This is a classic synth-pop / New Wave carnival. 'Blame the Machine to Being Followed' reminds me of early 80's synth style music, the time of Wild Boys and Song of RIO. Also it is obvious that the budget for the album was not very large, so the album sounds very similar to 80's. But even then, the musicians 'squeezed' out of their synths to the max, and it is even noticeable. Very well want to praise the singer'Simon Le Bon', by the way, he is also a part-time chief songwriter, for his beautiful voice. Singing is really stunning, perfectly matching the music.

Overall, the album leaves a good impression, because, first of all, hits the material. I do not know why, but most of the songs from the album I was reminded of a famous work done by these guys in the mid 80's. Best album after 'Astronaut'.

My Picks:
Blame the Machine (80's pop / new wave revival)
Leave a Light On (Slow beautiful pop ballad)
Girl Panic (V.much 80's synth)
The Man Who Stole A Leopard [(feat Kelis) another cool track]
Rating: 4/5

Brooklyn band the National has been overpraised and under-famous since the release of 2007's "Boxer," which did well enough to suggest a move from underground stardom to the actual kind was there for the asking. If their placeholder of a new disc, "High Violet," is any indication, the National is content to stay where it is.

It's methodical and smart, filled with inscrutable but deep-sounding ruminations on love and loss. Its twisty, intricate rhythms and lush orchestral passages would take lesser bands years to figure out. It's carefully made and entirely admirable.

http://blog.washingtonpost.com/clicktrack/2010/05/album_review_the_national_high.html
The American quintet The National is currently one of the best modern rock band. Critics have compared the group with the great Canadian poet and musician Leonard Cohen, the Americans REM , Nick Cave grim Australian and The Bad Seeds , as well as with the British Tindersticks, Radiohead and Interpol.

Total of 5 albums to their name and the last of them, titled 'Boxer', was published in the year 2007 and became the group a major step forward. Believe or not, i've'nt listened any of their last four albums and now dying to listen this album for the 3rd time.

Matt Berninger’s voice is great and so does the music the group produces, highly appreciable. i can't disagree of what one reviewed on: http://www.popmatters.com/pm/review/125231-the-national-high-violet

pretty much what i thought after listening the album for the first time. 'Sorrow' track reminded me of 'Pulp's' greatest single 'Trees', so mellow and catchy with nice acoustic guitar play and so gentle on piano keys. guitar music on various tracks usually are adopting British style of indie play. Indeed, viscous viscous riffs, raucous depressive vocals is the best match the gloomy mood, example 'Little Faith'.

'Bloodbuzz Ohio',Jubilant singing superimposed on a psychedelic 90's style background with transparent keyboards and outlandish rhythm section. Black & White video projection of a depress person in his mid 60's living an absurd life in Ohio state. A perfect track with an outstanding video direction. 'Conversation' built on a combination of meditative guitar with a weary vocals after some neat slow-tempo ballads.

Expanded set comprises both alternative edition and some sets of unreleased tracks that definitely & equally well go for the summer open-airs and picnic on the beach.

Sum up:
If cross 'Tindersticks' and 'Interpol', probably just get a group of The National. Dedicated to all fans of 'Radio head' and 'Interpol'.

Finally Aussie X-Factor winner's debut album hit the shelves after a wonderful end to this year's Australian X-Factor season. I had this chance of listening the whole album, a studio work bit different of what i've already watched the TV performances the guy had for weeks, so marvelous.

Altiyan Childs (formally known as Altijan Juric)[3], was born in Mount Isa, Queensland but grew up in Sydney. His father is of Croatian descent and his mother is Serbian.[4] Childs and his sister Altiyana were named after their father's sister Altijana, who was murdered at only two months of age.[5] At the age of thirteen he had a high school band called Over the Top

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Altiyan_Childs

The debut album by X Factor 2010 winner Altiyan Childs featuring Altiyan’s X Factor journey through the final 12 including re-recorded studio tracks of some of the incredible performances on the show including Livin’ On A Prayer, Never Tear Us Apart, Hey Soul Sister and Lady In Red, as well as recordings of his standout performance of Summer of 69 and his winning single, Somewhere in the World.

http://www.hq-uploads.com/altiyan-childs-altiyan-childs-2010-caheso/
Album contains all those songs the Altiyan sang on X-factor, a live performances are pretty much the 'other people songs' that rocked the stage. Famous bands and artists that came to life on Altiyan's golden throated voice, a time machine journey to the past are 'U2, Inxs, Survivors, Boney M, Jon Bon Jovi, Chris De Burgh, Bryan Adams, Mike & the Mechanics and Train'.

What else can i add here, All songs are covered on a unique and FRESH throat. Just listen and enjoy plus you are the judge. Those who missed listening to the greatest singers and their classic songs in the past, here is a chance to align retro and present stuff in a comfortable environment, one of the best modern Rock-pop covers i've ever listened on a single disc.

Is it me or someone also noticed Natalie starred Ronan in almost every performance.

Verdict: Fabulous album, better than any Australian or American Idol or Uk X-factor. A good Xmas gift for sure.

Alternative or Progressive format is considered an important test for consistency for any rock band. More experiments means more responsible rockers with an atmospheric scene. The UK based old heads utilizing the formula of mixing atmospheric-melodic rock to alt.rock vibes to a whole new dimension is quite an appraiser. It took seven years to ensure that the light shines well on their eighth studio album that explorers both of ladies and gentlemen' hearts.

In this day, Anathema have so far removed themselves from the epic doom of their waking years that any comparison of the two poles will come up empty. However, they've been painting the trace colors of their current formula for a great many strokes, since The Silent Enigma and Eternity in the mid 90s. Alongside a handful of other acts (Katatonia and Tiamat come to mind) their numerous evolutionary lunges have been largely successful, first courting Gothic metal and now this atmospheric rock era.
http://www.fromthedustreturned.com
If we talk about the dynamics of the creative thought of these guys, then, when compared with their previous opus, stylistically, little has changed. I suspect that they are already clearly defined by its direction and will continue to stick with it. Although, of course, this album is a bit more tricky moves arranger. Clearly, the guys also did not want to stand still and think up some new tricks. But, in principle, it is about frozen in time melodic rock, which acts smoothly on their fans heart.

The best thing about We're Here Because We're Here is that Anathema pretty much do everything right here. The songs are very well written and structured, and reward repeated listens as you spot little nuances that subtly improve the songs. Another great thing about this album is how different it is from their previous work. This album has a very different feel. It's much more positive than anything they've released previously.

The piano plays a big role on this album, from the unforgettable opening strains of 'Everything' to the reflective and romantic 'Dreaming Light' the latter a classic Anathema ballad in the vein of 'Flying' or 'Are You There?' just with all suggestion of separation or uncertainty removed in favour of uplifting lyrics about transcendent love. It's all pretty wimpy in terms of theme, but Anathema are veterans at reimagining themselves and pull this off with panache. They sound like they mean it, is what I'm trying to say.
http://baileysmmcreamy.blogspot.com/
> Thin Air - Mega opener. lyrically airy song.
> Everything - more of a Cold play sound. Paino keys plays an important role here. brilliant.
> Dreaming Light - beautiful and so relaxing.
> Presence - Half way through a talkative session and then comes nice guitar riffs, slow drums on female voice. Not bad
> Simple Mistake & Get off, Get out - both melodious and my fav ones too.
> Hindsight - The tracks is slower and 98% instrumental.

Final words: Anthema's trademark of making quality music never ends.

Still, I don't like either Sony or Microsoft as they are focusing more on corporate greed than delighting customers. PC gaming is best of gaming and worth every penny.

PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.

About the Microsoft (and Sony) debate, I feel both have become too greedy and losing their minds over corporate greed. Personally, I will never buy any console next gen and switch to PC gaming where democracy reins.

Online session is enabled for UBL. I have an active subscription with my NayaPay card (it is already added to Google Payment Methods).

  • B Baghi:
did you try setting up Google Payments? For UBL you may have to get it enabled for internet transactions, Naya should work without it!

  • Aciel Aciel:
I tried both NayaPay, and UBL, but I keep getting "correct country selected..." error. I already have PK set there 🤦‍♂️

Did y'all see the new Assassin's Creed trailer? They finally made a AC set in Japan & then they put a negro as the male protagonist. Ubisoft is taking cues from Disney, and it isn't gonna end well for them, just like Disney. Go woke, go broke!
