Aight this one is fo the hardware gurus here on pg ..
i've recently upgraded ma pc to dual core e5200.. here are the specs of ma system

Intel Dual core e5200 2.5ghz
Intel DG43nb Mobo
Corsair xms2 2gb Twinkit gaming memory
Cooler Master 460w PSU

so my question is..

1. Will e5200 be enough to handle games like crysis , gta iv, farcry 2 etc (the high end ones) when equipped with good gpu?

2. Secondly m deciding on the gpu which m a bit confused at. So far its GTS 250 that i would like to go for (as m a diehard nvidia fan)....but i've been reading about palit but i think even though palit has got better specs in terms of GDDR5 still the durability counts..
kindly guide me on this one as well..

i've been discussing this with beloshi for few days now but before i can finalize my decision i would definitely love to make sure if m making the right move!!
Regards!!:)

still not helpful ... you wanna play at like 1024x768 , 1680x1050 , 1920x1080 , 2048x1536 or you wanna do dual screen gaming o_O ?

my e4400 at 2.60 handles cyrsis like a dream at 1680x1050 so yeah i would say it all depends on what you overclock to , and your GPU

No plans of upgrading anytime soon? Is that the highest your monitor does btw?

If so, just get a HD4770, HD4830, or a 9800GT. You don't need more than that.

i am not sure if gts 250 can run on 460w psu, so you should check also this.

i think that 9800gt/4830 is good choice

Resolution is the ultimate deciding factor. But for that native res... you'll need something more like a 4870x2 or gtx 295... so if you plan to game at the resolution you said, the cards I mentioned are more than enough. But in future when you increase the resolution, you will need a more powerful GPU... and those choices are good enough uptil 1680x1050/1600x1200 for current games. And you can always overclock it down the road to get more out of it.

i think just to be safe, you should have 500w at least,

also cm 460w dosent mean that it delivers 460wattage.

i saw a review on it, it actually delivers 370w maxed

Thats a great budget CPU. But at this point in time, you can do better. Please tell me the prices of the more expensive ones... coz based on that... it might be better to get one of those. Also, make sure you have a good PSU for all this.

E5200 @ 3.5ghz handle all games at max at 1920 resolution along with PALIT 4850 ddr5 with 2 gb ram....i hav that specs!!

except

FARCRY2 runs at 1600 resolution

GTA is bad port and it only runs great on QUAD!!! s

and probably for crysis one need a good CPU too...

but for 2 games upgrading to quad isnt good option when one has tight budget.

so the solution is...

GET A good cooler.
and if u hav some money left then get a LCD monitor because gaming is really on LCD...
for card its ur call...i hav used the both brand and i m happy with them...go to the solution which suites u...as there`s 1k difference in price...so u hav to select between DDR5 and in with GTS 250 which is equal to normal 4850 DDR3

well..cant really say bout that but i doubt that its true!!
according to that statistcis...even a 500w wont be able to deliver 450w will it?

i actually had 2 choices..e5200 n a core 2 duo e7400..
difference was 3k PKR but wz kinda short on budget coz had to buy a good PSU as well!!
wud be great if you can elaborate e5200's performance for me with gaming :)

he culd try the new Dual Core E6300 which runs at 1066 FSB 2.8Ghz with 2MB of Cache
if he can Overclock then E5200 will suffice though

yar i am running core 2 quad and 9800GTX (more power hungry then GTS 250) on CM460 watts without any porbs. @ topic starter. if you have some extra money you can go for CM 500w else 460W will do the job.

bro that is because thew extreme series is the low end psu's. you have to buy corsair psu for good performance for future proof.
