A 2nd generation PC is still more than enough for all the games..and a good GPU is all u need..
the rest is all good to go!!!

Theres one thing i noticed.My monitor cable does not match any of the cards slots.What gives??

Which Cable? VGA or DVI?

Most Cards come with DVI Ports and a DVI to VGA Convertor that can be used the Monitor does not have DVI Connection

And what is crossfire?The cards specs indicate i need a 600 W PSU to enable that?and is it worth it?

Cards that dont have VGA Output come with a DVI to VGA Convertor so dont worry about it

Crossfire is AMD's Technology to run 2 or more Cards in Parallel
U dont need to concern urself over it

If you dont have a Converter, you need to buy it will cost you around 150 - 500 (depends kon kitna choona lagata hai)

Crossfire :
If you run a single ATI Card in ur system, it will known as ForeverAlone or SingleFire (1)
If you run 2 ATI Cards - Simultaneously in ur system.. it will known as Crossfire ^_^.

Extra Info:

• Same thing in Nvidia (if you connect 2 cards same time) called > SLI .
• If you want to connect 2 cards at the same time, you need a Crossfire/SLI supported motherboad along with a Crossfire/SLI Bridge.. and a Good PSU who can handle both of the cards.
