Moving to Islamabad would be a jump forward in your life. You can either remain in Karachi amongst your friends/family or move to an entirely different (read immensely beautiful) city and experience a new culture and a new way of life in the process of doing so.

Karachi is one of the cheapest cities in the world. From petrol/cng to shawarma, everything is relatively less expensive compared to the rest of the country.
Rents in Islamabad are high. Most middle class people prefer residing in Rawalpindi if they land a job in Isb. To get an exact picture, I would suggest you contact a property dealer.

There are plenty of places to hang out in the city. Contrary to popular belief, the city doesn't turn dead after 10 p.m. But of course you won't get the 'gehma gehmi' of Pakistan's largest metropolis.

You get all sorts of neighbours. The nosy/snobbish/caring/aloof type you will find everywhere, even in Islamabad.
And security of course. No mobile snatchings etc.

It's a beautiful city. You'll love it. Plenty of places to hang out (if you have friends of the sort). You seem like a person with a serious job and not some teenager who chases around girls half day. You'll be fine in ISB.

P.S. I don't live in Islamabad - just work there :)

I moved to Islo 1.5 years ago. The only thing I like about this place is peace and clean roads.

Though, People of Islo are a bit lazzy "charsi to be precise :p". Standing in CNG lines is a nightmare :/

P.s. My czns moved from khi to DHA 2 weeks ago. They do love the peace and cleanliness here :)
