Get a P45 chipset motherboard. No need to go anything higher i.e.X48
Get P5Q-E
or
MSI P45 Neo2-FR

Note that P5Q-3 is for DDR3 and P5Q-Turbo for DDR2 ... so choose the one which is compatiable with your RAM.

Where is this P5K-VM available for 5.5k? It has been discontinued for a long time now and everybody is recommending him motherboards which are currently available in market.

First of all you are referring to a mobo which is outdated now and you cant even find it now.
Second, he want a motherboard for his QUAD CORE that is why people are recommending him a P45 Chipset.
