Man I've been trying real hard to dull the hate for the game, I'm trying to like the game (not that the game is making it any easier), it's just a big bummer seeing one of the best (and my favorite) new franchises of the last few years getting treatment like this.
I know what you feel and this has happened to several franchise in the past two generation. But what can be done now? Do we have to force ourselves to like the game because we are fans.

If we ignore the quality of the game for a moment, the technical issues are also present that just make it hard for me to find anything good in the game. Like I said, I had recently posted an article about the game on PS4 Pro where they talked about 1800p CB resolution but the thing is, the resolution and supersampling isn't noticeable or has much of an effect here on ME: Andromeda and when you are getting the same stutters and frame rate drops, you'd rather wish for better visual effects which isn't the case either.

DF is going to make a video between PC and PS Pro soon and I am looking forward to it. I hope a future patch does something here since I am also playing Horizon Zero Dawn and there is NIGHT AND DAY difference between the quality of both games.

Also, if you've been keeping up with Horizon's updates, they actually are patching improvements to facial animations as well. Sure, you can say they're a first party Sony studio so they have all the development money, but EA and Bioware aren't indies either.

I find it ironic that ME: Andromeda was supposed to be one of the games that was highlighted as Pro enhanced yet the game is close to release and the Pro features are one of the most disappointing one from a game in recent history. Even FFXV devs, which added Pro support at last minute, managed to make a far better Pro version with 1800CB res, better AF, AA and AO on the Pro.

You can find a comparison between the Pro and regular PS4 from here and the difference is... almost non-existent.

^ That doesn't look right .. their Pro shots are very blurry. Could it be a case of the game not supporting super sampling if you run it on 1080p ?

I don't have any 1 to 1 shots but based on my earlier shots, it looks a lot cleaner than this.

Just finished the main missions and a few side quests in Havarl and now started Voeld, totally different world to Havarl.

Btw anyone else (on PC) getting random FPS dips when out in the open in Voeld?

It's so disappointing what's happened to this game. Under the right lighting even then character models look top-notch. The fact that the team which made ME3's multiplayer led on this game and the original team did not is maybe the biggest reason for this turnaround, makes sense why the combat and map traversal is the strongest component of the game and everything else isn't.

Also, Havarhl done, 24hrs into the game so far. I think I'm probably gonna trade this in for Persona 5 if I'm finished with it by the time it comes out.

Whelp, just like dragon age, the game does a huge disservice to itself by giving you the dull-ass Eos planet first, there's quite a lot of variety. Just entered this Skyrim looking planet.

Fir3d3mon I see you also attempted to re-create the ME3 casual leather jacket outfit.

I don't think many people will be keeping the game for that long lol. Everyone knows I'm the biggest ME nut on PG but even I'm 99% confirmed to trade it in for Persona 5.

did they or their QA, not play the game before releasing it, even once ? This is a joke tbh.
dont think they had the man power or resources for that :p they tried to overachieve and failed..not the first time an EA studio has messed up in order to meet deadlines and given how community was ranting over delays, they misjudged the love for the franchise and thought ok lets release it like this people will be fine

Its EA we are talking about, arguably the biggest AAA game development company in the world. Manpower and resource in game development should be their forte.

To the deadline remark :

How can they risk such a, critically and user, beloved AAA series (not that there are many left) ?
This is some of the worst decision making I have ever seen..To me this might be worst than No mans sky, considering the resources each studio have.

technically speaking, EA is the publisher and 5 years is alot of time. No point in sinking more money in the game when the problems aren't necessarily fixable with more delays.

Take the example of The Last Guardian, quite a failure given the hype and long developement period behind it and already cut down to $40. None of its problems would be fixed with more delays. They cant even get it to perform adequately even now.

actually EA has shown for the past few years that the only franchises it cares about now is Battlefield and FIFA since they are the cash cows. MEA had a team of 200 people which was the entire staff of all three Bioware studios..clearly that wasnt enough for what they tried to do here with an open world approach (before someone brings up the 'mighty' Witcher 3, CDPR had core staff of almost 250 with numerous small studios helping them for a total count of around 500 people and a higher budget than MEA) and like Necro said, after so many years it probably became apparent to them that some of the issues just couldnt be fixed without either delaying the game another year or two or simply scrapping the entire project and bringing in a fresh pair of hands (lead, writers etc) given the sales of Titanfall 2, EA certainly couldnt afford to do that since it would have left their slate wide open with no other AAA release for a year
