u can see this tower even from the highway from jeddah to makkah... so huge

This is a complete eyesore. The design looks highly reminiscent of big ben imo. Sure on the outside it's got the whole green-color-that-represents-Islam theme, and the crescent moon spire thing going on. They tried to make it look as Islamic themed as they could, but fact is, it's base design is totally copied off from medieval European architecture. Epic fail. The Burj Khalifa is a little less than double the height of this tower, and it looks very elegant. The design is modern to fit with the theme of Dubai in general, AND it's incorporated Islamic elements in it's design. That makes it a unique building, and a beautiful one at that.

Agreed mostly. The architecture of a building needs to be consistent with where it stands.
About the height, well, Makkah Tower is the second highest building of the world at 560 Meters. (Burj Khalifah is at 810 Meters)
