"He only prohibits for you the eating of animals that die of themselves (without human interference), blood, the meat of pigs, and animals dedicated to other than God. If one is forced (to eat these), without being malicious or deliberate, he incurs no sin. God is Forgiver, Most Merciful." 2:173

"Today, all good food is made lawful for you. The food of the people of the Scripture (Jews & Christians) is lawful (halal) for you ......"
5:5

Jews believe in the Oneness of God. If they slaughter in the name of God, any name, as long as they believe God is ONE. Then yes, it is halal. Same for Christians, but hardly any Christians believe in the oneness of God.

Kosher can be considered Halal but I think it's a controversial thing, some will agree and others not.

And just a small point but Christians also believe in one God.

so does that mean even if we don't follow All the Islamic laws of slaughtering which includes saying GOD name
it will still be Under Halal and according to sharia ?
So Basically Believe is what is required then saying GOD Name while slaughtering or it is unnecessary part of Slaughter ?

Nope. Everything else applies.

The main difference between Halal and Non Halal meat in the context of slaughter is the method of slaughter. According to shariah, the animal should be cut through the neck up until and before the spine to allow normal blood flow to cease naturally. This ensures the maximum blood flow after the animal has been slaughtered and it is a condition without which the meat cannot be considered Halal even if it is slaughtered by a muslim and he says the name of Allah. An animal who's spine is also cut is called a murdaar in urdu and it's meat is Haraam. This is the MAIN requirement.

If they jews and christians follow their exact teachings, they are required to slaughter the animal in the same way and if they also recite the name of Allah of any good name by which they call him and belive in His oneness then it will be considered Halaal. It is extremely hard to find that in todays world. I have been living in the UK for the past 3 and a half years and I have not found a single christian slaughterhouse.

Modern slaughterhouses slaughter animals in the same way as shariah dictates as I have explained above because it has been scientifically proven that meat is the healthiest for consumption when maximum bleeding occurs but since they do not recite the name of Allah, it is not halaal.

If we are going to be strict about it, then it would vary by some degree in each case. For example, kosher only considers those animals clean which have split hooves and they chew the cud, however, halal in Muslim tradition means any animal which relies solely on vegetation and leaves. So the camel is considered unclean by kosher but clean by Muslim dietary law.

Also Jews do not take God's name as in name at each sacrifice because they have their command that "You shall not take the name of your God in vain". They general interpretation is that once done it suffices and instead of "Jehovah" their equal of "Allah" they call God "Adonai" which simply means "Lord'" or "master", therefore, to adhere to their law of Moses (PBUH). It is done out of respect.

However, sunnah says that the animal must be slaughtered (Dabihah) in the name of God. So no its doesn't necessarily apply but in the loose definition jews also believe in the one God so by some interpretations kosher can be considered halal.

Basically, there are many views and like in the majority of religion this is a subjective practice. So pick one you are comfortable with. If it is a problem to your faith don't eat it. If not, go ahead.

its the next best thing to Halal.
But the difference is, the animal has to be slaughtered in the name of Allah to be truly Halal.

From what I understand, a Muslim is required for slaughter for it to be considered Halaal.
Calling Kosher meat Halaal is like calling Jew a Muslim. But if someone isn't convinced (in their hearts), it's best to do primary research by himself.

I try to avoid even Halaal chicken that aren't tagged 'Zabeeha' halaal but many don't consider it a problem. (Note: Zabeeha Halaal is chicken processed through assembly line, fan blades and chicken are stunned before slaughter). I just think that if the alternate is so easy to get, I can skip the Nandos and KFCs (in Melbourne).
