Apple is now copying Google.. Its their new innovation.

For a second there I thought it was the old Gmail app :D

Let's see what else they've done. I sure hope these screenshots are fake.

It's the WWDC app. Where the heck do you see 'Google copying' in an app?

I stand by what I said. If you have to open an app then its not auto backup sorry.

You have a habit of standing by a lot of incorrect things. I just tried auto upload on the Facebook app. It worked when I wasn't even in the app. Aur kuch?

Re: This is what iOS 7 looks like

That has nothing to do with multi-tasking.
You didn't get what I said. I don't have to open the airdroid app or tap its widget to access my phone from the computer.

Don't open the Facebook app for a while and then see if it can do that. ;)

I dunno the first glimpse just said so. Like I said, I have high hopes for iOS under Jonathan Ive's direction but then again... He's one man with limited freedom.

And as for limitations of the iOS from a programmer's PoV.. We were making an app recently with a login on both platforms. On Android, I suggested we do an auto-login where if the phone number matches the ones in our db the user is allowed to get in and if not then he is redirected to a registration screen.

Now, as it turns out, iOS doesn't allow apps to get the phone number from the SIM card automatically, whereas Android does (with a proper permission ofc). We had to scrap that excellent user-friendly login system for the typical Type in username Type in password crap.

That being said, what iOS has is very reliable (save for the Maps app). The libraries included in the platform are almost 100% bug free.

You're asking me to create an artificial situation, which I won't. Why don't you download a task manager and force kill all Dropbox services and see if auto upload still works?

Acha chalo yay baat hai to who the hell will use Facebook as a means to backup all your pics? It doesn't save pics in full size and doesn't automatically download pics on my computer like how dropbox does, heck you can't even do multiple downloads at once from Facebook lol. Dropbox is the most superior photo backup solution better than icloud as well since it doesn't have a web interface.

Tum mujhe ye batao kaun auto upload kare ga pics? I take tons of random pics from my phone, some which I delete within a day. Do I want them all automatically uploading on the cloud? Abuses will lead to ban please; my sanity is still intact. I upload my pics on Flickr (selected, not all), which is a billion times better than Dropbox; has a superb web interface, an awesome app on all platforms, and FREE 1TB of storage.
I don't care about auto-upload, and I never will as long as I care about my privacy. The multi-tasking which iOS does currently is very efficient, doesn't rape battery or require insane amount of hardware or grinds the system to a halt.

Whatever I delete from my phone gets deleted from my dropbox as well. And I have auto upload set up to only trigger when phone is connected to charger and wifi so it isnt "always" uploading.

Baat yay nai thee kai what you do or dont care about aur yay bhi nai thee kai whether you need android multi-tasking or not. Baat yay thi kay iOS multi-tasking is very limited and thats true. It has its pros and cons sure but that wasnt the point.

Since iOS can't support auto upload in the background, nobody uses auto upload.
Since Flickr has a superb web interface, we shouldn't use Dropbox.
Since Ammar doesn't care about auto-upload, we shouldn't blame iOS for not supporting pure multitasking.

The amount of hypocrisy and irony in this thread is beyond reckoning

You're the same guy that once tried to 'ban' Apple v Android comparisons in the Cellphone section? :)p)

iOS multitasking is limited and there are more pros to it than cons in my opinion, or at least for me. No lag to speak of, no crazy specs and unbelievable battery life.

lol at the unbelievable battery life that's a load of crap.

IPhone always has the latest and greatest GPU which BTW is extremely important in the fluidity of the os it's nothing like a PC where the GPU only matters for gaming and video. So stop with iOS doesn't need the best specs thing.

Only thing iOS needs less is ram. For high end phones of today the cons are far less than the pros.

As for low end phones if you are rooted then you can forcefully disallow any app to run in the background. The useful life of a non rooted android phone is lower than that of an iphone I can agree with that.

Remind me again how many cores does the iPhone 5 have and how many are there in the Galaxy S 4 i9500.

And iOS is far more battery efficient. Let's not get into this argument because it has been proven over and over again. Every Android user I know is anal about battery life, using God knows how many apps to measure battery life, to squeeze that last minute out of the battery. Heck all I see Android users boast about is by posting the stupid battery graph of their phones.
Last night I went to sleep with my iPhone 5 fully charged. In 8 hours of sleep there was 0% battery drain. It was 100% when I went to sleep, it was 100% when I woke up. You call me up when your Android phone can manage that.

Let me ask you a question, how many times have you read articles on the web on battery saving tips on Android and how many have you read on battery saving tips on iOS?

This is what iOS 7 looks like

Loads of people are happy with iOS too. The customer satisfaction rate for iOS users is far higher than Android users. You just don't see them on PG as much because new iOS devices cost 70k, and even the older ones are for over 40k. iPad 4 is for 50k and the iPad Mini is for 35k. That's well over twice the budget of most people here who just want something like a Xperia U.

Oh and iOS isn't easy to use? What world are you living in? And I don't care about free apps. If I can afford a 70k phone I can afford to pay Rs. 100 for a deserving app.
Well i use non jailbreak iphone 5 6.1.4 and i got all the paid apps for free, and NOO their not demo's their freakin full versions...

Nothing wrong with it as long as you're getting them legitimately. I'm not anti-piracy, but I just don't see any sense to pirate a $1 game or app.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
