Personally i would prefer Sohaib as he is in form.But we need someone on 1 down position and Younis experience for a big match might give him an edge in selection.

Younis Khan as opener could turn out to be a free wicket for India.He is not a natural stroke player and that has led to his downfall in ODI format.

Yeah, I see you ruled out Younis there which can't happen. Also sarfaraz may not play.

That's why I said 'should' but 'wouldn't'. Judging by Younis's form, I'd say Sohaib Maqsood and Umar Akmal should be slotted in with Sarfraz opening for the team. He's done that for a while now; no point dropping him right at the start of the mega event.

BUT team management is obviously too meek and older players like Younis and Shahid too influential to allow such bold replacements.

this is 3rd time Younis is opening innings for pakistan and his previous highest is 4 so lets see how he do today.
atleast its a good option over choosing nasir jamshaid because youni's own presence in the team was not sure so they picked him as opener because we didn't had a good opener. lets see how it works
