Well its absolutely nothing compared to a S2. Otherwise its an OK phone by today's standards. For a QWERTY you dont really have a lot of choices so Desire Z is a pretty decent option.

I have a Desire Z ... I think its a pretty good phone .. ! :)

My only wish is that it had a 1 Ghz processor instead of an 800 Mhz one, because sometimes it gets a little slow ... But majority of the times its fairly to very responsive ..

desire z has 2nd gen processor while desire has old 1st generation

Despite desire Z has 800 mhz cpu its not less than 1ghz desire in performance..
2nd generations use less voltage, saves battery with same performance.

You are just 16 and your brother have got a Desire ZEEE :S
What else do you want? Some 80k iPhone? :p

lol Comon. Free main mil raha hay. Chup chaap le lo. Warna mujeh de do.

--------------------------

On a serious note Desire Z is not bad at all. I think your brother was short on budget and he might've thought of NOT getting some too expensive phone for a 16 years old ... well, kid. (no offense, but elder brothers think just like that) So he bought you a DesireZ. I am convinced its a used handset which means price might've been considerably lower and acceptable for him.
In market here, usually Desire Z costs about 22-25k ... which i think is fair for this phone because Hardware QWERTY is supposed to be about 3-4k expensive than usual Touch Screens. (Another reference in this regard would be a i5700 Spica and Motorolla Milestone, where Spica costs about 10k and Milestone about 15k)
I'd say its quite more than what should've been paid for a person getting FIRST handset. So you should be happy.

Another TRUE theory in thread is ... agar kisay amature banday koi million rupees mil jayen, to uss se handle nahin hotay. So dont think of getting hybusa as your Training Bike. (If you get my point)
Banda slowly slowly upar jata hay. 1 dum lambi jump maro gay to mun k bal giro gay

As you said its your 1st Phone, and not even your 1st ANDROID phone ... i'd say KEEP IT. Get to know Android. And enjoy your first experience.

--------------------------

To avoid theft/stealing, dont take it out in open crowded places that often. Keep a leather cover with it if you can (to save it from scratches etc). And if you travel in Buses and Wagons mostly, do not take it out with you (trust me).

Apni taraf se ehtiyaat karo. Baaqi ALLAH MAALIK.

^ Ah well ... inthat case, its yet another reason for your not to change/sell it because your brother have got it much expensive than we can buy here :p
lol

Not to forget that GSII costs about 600+eu , which is twice expensive than he paid for DesireZ.

I remember it from early days when Sensation's price was about 670 eu and GSII was 600. Not i think it has come down so 470eu was quite acceptable considering its specifications. But he might've had his reasons. So ....

Desire Z is a really good phone and has amazing 3rd party support. If lag is an issue, one can always overclock it to 1.2 GHz and improve performance.

You have got a very decent phone for your first Android. I would suggest you keep using it, get familiar with the platform and when you're ready, root it and have with with Custom ROMS.

Desire Z is bloody brilliant.

IF you get the right case and screen protector you'd love it. Awesome features and functionality.
Can you give me a link and point me in the right direction? I've been looking for a case for the past few days.

@SiXFoOt: Keep using it. The best thing I like about Desire Z is that it has phenomenal 3rd party developers' support. There are many dedicated Custom ROMs for the DZ and they're amazing.
