hi. got myself some Hifiman HE 400i Planar Magnetic Headphones and thought why not share the unboxing here.
these are considered to be one of the best mid tier Audiophile headphones out there and for their price and weight, very acclaimed in Planar world.
what is planar some might ask, its a tech used to build headphones where sound is produced by interaction of two very strong magnetic field, a very simple way to put it actually.
but who cares here anyways right? :dance::dance:

first thing in any headphone i look for is their comfort. these are the most comfortable cans i have used in a very long time. clamp is not so still out of the box, a big plus! cups are right size, and are airy enough to not sweat around the ear. headband sits on head just the perfect way.
being planars the best part about these cans is their sub bass and mids. these produce some sexy crisp mids and deep sub bass, i have never heard on any dynamic cans.
vocals sound extremely awesome cause of that inclined mids, and instrument separation is among the best i have heard.
tonality is mixed, i would not say they tend more towards treble or bass, as again those mids are so pronounced (in a good way) that the signature is over all very pleasing.
what i like the best about these is imaging. you can feel the difference, these are THAT Good!
just for their clarity some people consider these to be a bargain for their price.
fav genre of these cans are almost all cause of superb tonality. personally i think jazz, rock, house, electronic and classical sound the best. and rap, well these are Rap god cause of extremely fast response!
i run these with Objective 2 & ODAC combo, but i got something new now that i might have to take them out to listen to
