I don't understand what you mean by HD LCD. You are looking for 1080p in LCD monitors and than you are comparing it with a 720p HDTV. :confused:

State your requirement so we can give you better advice.

50k? Get a 720p HDTV. I think you can get 32" for that price.

Check out Sony or Samsung. There's a Philips 32" HDTV that goes for around 45000Rs but I can't find it on the net. Visit your dealer or a market where they got these electronic shops. If you can, then you may check out Saddar karachi near Regal.

You can get 32" HDTV for Rs.50,000. The Samsung you provided link for as well as some models by Philips are available for less than 50,000.

Hmm Cheap LCD will not get the Job done. Games will work fine, but the other things, like cable TV, standard DVDs etc will give a horrible , jagged Picture. If you want a HDTV either raise ur Bidget for A 42" Plasma, or stick to the CRT (Regular TV) . In Pakistan I had a Philips Pixed Plus 2 Tele, or get a Sony Wega 29". You will be a happy Puppy :D

Are you really serious? Are you saying that a 29" CRT TV is better than Samsung 32" LCD HDTV?

Yeah, watch em side by side, that's the BEST way to sort out things. When shopping for HDTV myself, I did a lot of research and roaming around the malls for Plasma/LCD, you will just be very disappointed if you watched SD on LCD TV, Plasma is way better. In Pak we have SD so mm better to go for Plasma or HD CRT. Computer Monitors are another story, BUT, the folks working with Graphics etc still prefer CRT :). For TV Plasma VS LCD, Plasma is the way to go, I have watched LCD (Sony Bravia X series) running side by side with Panasonic Plasma (the one I bought finally)
IF you will give me the option between a cheap LCD or CRT , I will go for CRT. The Sony X series has the best rendering engine, the problem is that the Pixels on screens, the Tele will change the Standard Definition (SD) to HD, so that it can display Pixel to Pixel, and if the Pic quality is poor (as mostly of our Pak Cable) it will look all Jagged.
Panasonic Plasma (after Pioneer, which is LOADS expensive) has the best convertion. If you want LCD the HIGHLY Recommended is Sony X-Series.

And the best way is to go to some good shop, ask the Dealer to plugin cable and compare.
THE BEST WAY,
but usually they dont, the demo running on LCD is a movie that runs Slow, fast action also has a problem of Ghosting on LCDs.

@devilhimselff
Digital Cable service is also available in Pakistan (in Lahore by Worldcall) which looks really good on LCD HDTVs.
The drawbacks which you are stating about LCDs are not present any more. Newer LCDs have a very low response time and there is no ghosting. You said it yourself that LCDs are good for gaming. It's games for which faster response time is important. Tell me something, when there is no ghosting for a game running at 60fps than how can there be any ghosting for a movie running at 30fps?

@babloo
Samsung 2253 and 226BW are basically same LCDs in different shapes.

There is a slight difference in the panels used in both LCDs. "S" panel of 2253 in not as good as "S" panel of 226BW, while "C" panel of 2253BW is slightly better than "C" panel of 226BW.

I'm using 226BW "A" panel and I am really pleased with it. I have not faced any ghosting or color errors so far in any PC/PS3/360 game.

First thing we are not talking about High End LCD HDTV, the dude asked for LCD option in 50K, that would be the lowest Quality LCD out there.
CRT under that will be at the Top end.
Yeah the High end LCD (namely the X series Sony) will be GREAT with HD signals and games too if its low on response time.
Sony Bravia Sony Bravia KLV-40X350A costs a whopping 247,000 RS (at shophive), that's not an option.
Like I said, just goto a Shop, run em side by side or at least watch em with the same signal and then see which one to get, Cheap LCD HDTV is not the way to go. If you have around 80K Plasma is better.
I burned my own DVD and took it to Sony, Samsung and Panasonic outlets :D for comparision. You can do that too, 50K is a lotta money, the dealer should oblige u, if they dont then dont buy it from them :)

If they would have introduced a 1080p in 32" LCD HDTV series it would have been even better but for the same price.Btw new LCD is now keeping pace with plasma though plasma's are still ahead.
LED backlit LCD and H-IPS =two thumbs.
