Help buying a Laptop

Well i've got some money in my hands and i always wanted to buy a laptop so i thought why not.

Anyway, my Budget is 40K ( can increase to 41-42, but not more) and i am really confused in what to get. The only Laptops that are coming in this range are from accer, but i've heard from some people that their bulild quality isn't that great.

And as i'm a total noob when talking about Laptop Hardware so i dont have any idea in what to get.


Also, i wont do any gaming on the laptop, i just want it for Watching at least 720p movies, university work and little bit encoding. So i guess a dual core(at least) is a must.

Raise your budget to 50k and gett Dell N5010. Its perfect for your purpose and it will be easy to sell as well, C2D arent worth the money anymore as far as laptops are concerned.

If you cant raise your budget then dont waste your money on a C2D, give it to me instead

You cant find a gaming laptop in 40k
Proper gaming laptops are above 70k... Some people may refer to a laptop having a 512mb low end nvidia or Ati dedicated graphics card as a gaming laptop , But they are not..
Buy a C2D... with Intel graphics and it will for sure easily play 720p or 1080p Videos..
And I dont think Hp , dell or acer make a difference...
I have seen many Hp laptops which need repairing and are not more than a year old....
It depends more on your luck
Butl mostly Hp has better build quality and longer life

i'd say get yourself a thin and light laptop with gr8 battery life and good performance for movies and general multi-tasking. for example the acer timeline it's pretty good read the reviews

I cant raise my budget that much. Also i really dont want an i3, cause that would be a waste for me. A c2d or a dual core is more than enough for me

Ok so i check around in the market and the only laptops that are in my budget are from Accer. I found the accer e-machine e725, its a 2.0 GHZ dual core, 2gb ram, 250gb hard drive etc. Should i go ahead and buy this?

also can people of islamabad tell me some reliable shops which sell laptops

P.s: i am really thinking of getting the emachine, for 36k the deal is really making me buy the laptop. 2.2 Dual Core, 3Gb Ram and 250GB HDD.

yeah i checked but the cheapest is 45k which is way out of my budget.
