Hi!

I have a 600 VA UPS and a spare 150 Ah Excide battery, I removed the UPS internal battery and connected the terminals to the 150 Ah battery, even after 24 hours of charge, I can't get anything out of UPS. What needs to be done in order to get it working?

Regards.

Yes, I have connected it correctly, and the battery is used but in working condition. Actually what I wanted to say when I said that "can't get anything out of it" was the UPS won't even turn on, when I press the On button it dies instantly with a dying beep........

Thanks for replying.....

Oho.

You need to use fatter wires, not the UPS' own wires. Get fatter wires, open up the UPS, attach those wires to the UPS and to the battery.

My UPS was giving the same problem after I tried to run it with a bigger battery.

I have an Alfa Digital PC UPS.

Did you soldered the "fat" wires into the PCB of the UPS or attached them to the "slim" wires of the UPS, because I did the latter. The cables I used can be used for 1.5 ton AC as well......

Thanks for reply.....

I think battery is fine as it is giving 12.5 volts, it was alright when I removed it from my main UPS to replace with dry battery.....

It Should Work Considering Provided With Solid wires.....Sealed Battery Inside Use Thin Wires......!! I Would Recommend Using DC Wires Instead Of AC wires...!

Agreed With Soban...You Should Charge Battery 1st And Then See.....Voltage Will Raise Somehow When UPS Is On Charge.....!!!!

Make Sure UPS Don't Have Overcharge Protection......Which Cut Off Charging Reaching desired Voltages
