Thanks for the detailed reply.

I've also come across the JVC RX700 on BHP and Amazon. Cost is 35$. I've seen people fawning over these. What do you say?

Also, would I need an amp with an Exynos Note 4? And a Maximus VI Hero motherboard?
JVC RX700 became famous here on PG when the next best thing available to us was A4Tech headphones. Compared to poor quality products available locally they were much better in all aspects. However, compared to good quality headphones available internationally they are OK at best. They are comfortable and have good quantity of bass. But in terms of clarity, instrument separation and positioning they can't compete with Superlux headphones I mentioned and these are the attributes most important in gaming. At $35 they are still a pretty good deal. But their cost is $35 only if you can get them through some relative or friend coming from US. Otherwise importing them from Amazon will cost you nearly the same amount in shipment charges as the cost of the product itself.

I don't think you'll NEED an amp with any of these headphones. Amp will improve things, but is not a requirement.

Yeap, all cheap extension cables are horrible so might as well. :p

Where can I find those ? Don't need to use the microphone.
Normally the guys selling used Steelseries headphones have these cables in stock.

Thanks to @mac007 for letting me use his Fiio E07K (and his great hospitality) I was able to confirm the fault in my DT 770. We did a simultaneous comparison with one of his Tristar headphones and the sound from his 5k headphones was way better and crackle free on high volume lol.

Guess thats an end to my relationship with Beyerdynamic. Off to look for AKG or Sennheiser.
I believe those were Takstar headphones, not Tristar :). If you still want only closed back headphones then do consider Sony MDR-1A as well

Hi, first time posting here... I am looking for new earphones to use on my desktop pc any suggestions will be highly appreciated @Nomad you seem to be an expert kindly give me a suggestion budget 1500-2000
I'm definitely not an expert and have very little experience with earphones :). But the earphones I like the most within this budget are Rock Zircon. But opinions about them have been extremely polarizing where some people really like them while some consider them just ordinary. A lot depends on the type of seal you get with them. You can get them from Ali Express for around $10.

I want to buy headphone for my smartphone(listen to music and movies) and also for my PC, My budget 5K and can i get a good wireless headphone in this budget? and please also tell me where to get one from pindi/Isloo.

I'm afraid there aren't many good quality wireless headphones in this price range. Only wireless ones with decent quality which aren't too expensive are Sony MDRXB950BT (around $150). Sony MDR650BT (around $100) are also good and are cheaper but are on ear. Sennheiser wireless headphones in this price range are normally wireless TV headphones which are not suitable for travel.

In my opinion you should look for good quality wired headphones in this price range instead of wireless ones. You can get headphones like Sennheiser HD518, Philips SHP9500, Superlux HD681 Evo, 668b, Isk HF2010 if you want open back headphones. If you want closed back then Kingston Hyper X Cloud (or Hyper X Cloud Core), Isk HP2011, Edifier H850 are good options. All of these will have much better sound quality than wireless headphones in this price range.

So, I'm thinking of buying the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x, and I have heard some really good things about them all over the internet. I need to know if they are ideal for listening to Metal/Rock, I plan on using them with my S7 Edge. I'm currently using the Etyomatic HF2, and they are really, really good, but I want to move to over the ear rather than IEMs.

So I just bought the Sennheiser 598 Ivory Edition :p Pakiyoungster here was selling them. I just couldn't wait any longer and did not care anymore at this point whether they're closed or open back headphones. I just wanted to to make an entry to the world of high end headphones. And man, am I having a good time!

These cans sound great. I mostly listen to electronic music and many reviews were against these headphones for people like me. But everything sounds amazing, even electronic music. The bass has a significant punch and isn't too overwhelming. Oh and they're Extremely comfortable. I can wear these for hours and not get any sort of aching. The sound can get really loud on my sound card. The only problem is the 2.5mm to 3.5mm jack which blocks the point for my speakers on the soundcard. But I can fix that by getting the same type of adapter but with extension cable like this:

Definitely. The M50s are awesome for rock. The bass response is great and overall they are very comfy as well. Get them.

Well guys, do dig in a bit more before you jump in. At the price the M50x are, there are other options. I have a few pair of headphones and right now I cant even remember which drawer I put my M50x in. That... is how I have to treat them.

Look at a couple of more options. First define the purpose:

Do you need them for mobility? Yes? No?
Will you use an Amp? Cuz ur amp will be at such a loss with the ATH-M50x.
Overear or on-ear?
How much do looks matter to you? Cuz I hate the street looks of Beyer Dynamics, and you'd look aweful out there, but it's just hard to beat their offerings in different tiers, and they have $100 to $1200 cans that rival offerings in almost all price ranges. Can't go wrong with em.

So many other cheap options are there. I once got $50 Symphonized Wraith (metal frame, wooden back cups) and they're really nice for the price.

Earphones? I have bought many, and honestly, the $5 VE Monks beat shit out of most. They're open-back, and just natural sounding (though compromise over the bass area). The monks are like smaller Sennheiser HD598s or something. And I got them 3 times now... that is how much I'm loving them. They're priceless, though they're buds, so choose your IEM form factor, too.

You guys may wanna check out HeadFi.org for a lot more info. Here on PG, there's hardly ever any talk on professional audio. Only some guys get high-end cans. Most of us fall for commercial stuff. ATH-M50x trumps any beats, but it's hardly a start in audio fidelity. As I said, my least preferred pair. Takstars/Kingston HyperCloud/ISK2000 simply are better. SoundMagic HP-100 (closed) and HP-200 (open) for almost ATH-M50x prices are kickass.

Ask me for more info in particular if you need to. M50x? Ideal for monitoring and professional audio work. For general listening and fun? No sir. I don't recommend it - not when u can get better stuff than that for the same money. Check my unboxing and review threads. They may help.

At $169, you may wanna look at Pioneer RPHD10, or even the JVC HA-SZ1000/2000 (Bass Gods, but have to use aftermarket pads to get through right, though not mobile). Again, before you go Sony, check out some other stuff.

I don't trust Bluetooth for high quality audio yet. It hasn't matured anyhow, and audiophiles or those who are concerned with quality don't usually go wireless, unless you want wireless as a main requirement.

Well if you must have bluetooth, if ur really having trouble with wires, then sure, those Sony's are good. Again, like I said. Different kind of cans for different purposes. I don't prefer wireless audio. But that's just me. Yes, like mac007 said, check for comparisons in wireless headphones. The best ones would probably be V-Modas or those Momentums, much cheaper ones are Bluedio, though Sony's make and build may just be better. Do check for more reviews. I sometimes have to spend weeks to actually decide about something, as audio is very dear to me.
