Guide needed to buy a cycle

So guyz i needed some guide to buy a cycle in lahore or peshawar its my first time tht i am buying a bicycle plus i muge cycle chalana bi nai aati and i dnt kne anything abt the bicycles so kindly guide me regarding this

A word of advice, don't waste money on getting a bicycle with gears. It's utterly useless unless you plan to cycle on steep roads/paths.

Not true at all... Minimum 6 gears should be on a cycle, otherwise cycling against the wind or climbing bridges can be a REAL challenge.

@salman09 Just don't get a chinese cycle, they may look good, but they are all crappy. Better to get a Japanese bicycle, even if you have to get a used one... And before going to any shop at least decide if you want a sports cycle a mountain bike or a hybrid?

Or share what's your main purpose of cycling so you can get better help.

I am living in karachi, so can't help you from where to get, but can guide you on which type of cycle you should go for.

Sigh! That's just how people end up buying a chinese piece of shit... Or how they get conned by some greedy shopkeeper.

Its always better to have some personal knowledge before buying ANYTHING!

Ughh, that's not necessarily true :S If you want a good experience on a cycle with gears, go get a Japanese bike with Shimano gears and check for yourself!
Your judgment must be based on chinese maal. Also please share how often you clean your gears/chain/wires? And how? Coz thats the other reason, if you dont give any time to the maintainence of it, it'll obviously wear out.

there are Shimano gears there as well ? wow !! I have a bicycle here which has Shimano gears and they are some really cool gears !! others are either to hard to change or they don't have a good variety of gears if u know what I mean

Dude the problem is that we are shifting to lahore in the end of this week so i hv one week to make a decision
