Stick around to watch some racing after the event

Polyphony Digital will debut new footage from Gran Turismo Sport next week, according to the PlayStation Blog. A livestream event will kick off with the premiere of a new trailer at 10:45 a.m. PT on May 19.
Fans can watch live on Gran Turismo or PlayStation's YouTube channels, and are encouraged to stick around after the trailer for more Gran Turismo events. Starting at 11 a.m., the developer will host a pair of Gran Turismo Championship pre-season races.

These races are part of the Nations Cup and Manufacturer Cup, which will run over the course of the year. They are held in partnership with the International Automobile Federation, FiA.
Also promised during the stream is more information about the PlayStation 4 game, the next installment of the popular racing franchise. Sony first announced it with a trailer in October, as part of its Paris Games Week press event. Gran Turismo Sport will enter beta at some point later this year; Polyphony Digital also said last fall that it was working to make the game compatible with PlayStation VR.
Check out the first footage of Gran Turismo Sport in its announcement trailer below.

Gran Turismo Sport will be released Nov. 15 in the U.S. and Japan, publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment announced today.
Developed by Polyphony Digital and produced by series creator Kazunori Yamauchi, Gran Turismo Sport will be the first entry in the 18-year-old franchise on PlayStation 4. When Sony and Polyphony Digital announced Gran Turismo Sport at Paris Games Week last October, Yamauchi said that the studio planned to make it compatible with PlayStation VR. Sony will launch the virtual reality headset this October.

Yamauchi also said that Polyphony Digital expected to launch a beta of Gran Turismo Sport in "early 2016." Sony did not provide any further details on when the beta might be available. For more, you can check out the game's debut trailer below.
Update: A Sony representative told Polygon that Gran Turismo Sport will be released Nov. 15 in North America as well as Japan. As for Europe, the spokesperson said "there will be some variance" in the launch date across the region.
Update 2: Sony announced a pre-order bonus for Gran Turismo Sport along with the release date: an add-on called the 3-Car Pack, which will give players access to the Ford Mustang Group B Rally Car, Toyota FT-1 Vision GT Group 3 and Peugeot 908 HDi FAP LMP1. Additional bonuses are available to customers who pre-order through Amazon, GameStop or the PlayStation Store.
Gran Turismo Sport will also be available in a $69.99 Limited Edition to mark the series' debut on PS4. The package comes with "more than $130 in content," including $1 million of in-game credit; the GT Sport Starter Pack, which features eight cars; a pack of livery stickers; a bundle of 30 Gran Turismo Sport-themed PS4 avatars; and an in-game racing helmet. The Limited Edition will come in a Steelbook case.
Update 3: Sony has released a new trailer for Gran Turismo Sport. You can watch it above.

[h=2]Gran Turismo Sport beta bites the dust[/h][h=3]Scrapped so you can play it faster[/h]

A planned beta for Gran Turismo Sport has been canceled, creator Kazunori Yamauchi confirmed to VideoGamer. First announced alongside the game last fall, the demo was scrapped in order to get the game out this year.
"It's required that in order to do an open beta we have to create a proper master for it, and considering the release timing that we announced, we decided that we just don't have enough time to do two gold masters for the game," Yamauchi explained in an interview. "By omitting that, it saves us about three months of time."

Racing fans who didn't participate in yesterday's pre-season Gran Turismo Championship races featuring the game will get to try Gran Turismo Sport this November. The PlayStation 4 game launches in the U.S. and Japan on Nov. 15.

[h=2]Gran Turismo Sport delayed to 2017[/h][h=3]Taking a little longer to finish that last lap[/h]

Gran Turismo Sport won’t see release until sometime next year, Polyphony Digital announced this morning on the PlayStation Blog. Originally scheduled for a Nov. 15 launch in North America and Japan, the game has been pushed back so that the developer can spend "more time to perfect [it]."
"We do not want to compromise the experience in any way," creator Kazunori Yamauchi wrote. "While we cannot confirm a new release date at this time, we are more committed than ever to making GT Sport the best Gran Turismo game to date."

The delay comes even after Polyphony Digital canceled an open beta in order to cut down on development time. Both the demo and the game had been revealed last fall during Paris Games Week for a 2016 debut.
Gran Turismo Sport has been playable at recent events like E3 in June and Gamescom earlier this month, however, and it will continue to make the rounds at various events throughout the year. The latest entry in the successful racing series will be the first to hit PlayStation 4 whenever it does arrive.

Gran Turismo Sport closed beta begins March 17

Sony Interactive Entertainment will host a closed beta for Gran Turismo Sport, the company announced. The initial phase will start on March 17 and only be open to select U.S. PlayStation Network IDs.

Participants will be able to choose from a select rotation of cars and tracks each day to race online against others during the BETA phases. Track and car selections will vary during this period, and we made sure to offer different race class categories and course configurations to properly test our Gran Turismo fans!

This will also be the first time users will see how the Driver Profile is integrated within Gran Turismo Sport. The introduction of Sportsmanship Rating (tracks a player’s behavior and manners on-track) and Driver Rating (represents the overall speed of the player and how well they perform in races) will ensure those that race online will be equally matched, naturally creating a balanced group of competitive drivers for every race.

The initial phase of the closed BETA, starting on March 17th, will only be open to selected US PSN IDs, so be sure to check your “Messages” on the PS4 dashboard to see if you’ve been invited.

As with most BETA programs, in order for the development team to capture data in an optimal manner, the sample size needs to be increased gradually and in stages. While we begin to roll out the BETA, we have decided that the time differences across the U.S. are best matched to the development team in Tokyo.

During the initial phase, our servers will be open for users during specific times across the day. We will share these times closer to the BETA launch across our social channels and GT.com

[h=1]Gran Turismo Sport coming to PlayStation 4 this fall[/h]

[h=2]Watch the gorgeous new trailer[/h]

Sony announced today that Gran Turismo Sport is headed to the PlayStation 4 this fall.

The publisher made the announcement during Sony’s pre-E3 2017 showcase. Along with a release window, Sony played a video focusing on the behind-the-scenes life of producer and Polyphony Digital CEO Kazunori Yamauchi. Yamauchi, as fans of the franchise will know, has been working on the series since it began in 1997.
After the video played, Sony debuted a new trailer for GT Sport. The game was first announced in May 2016 and was originally supposed to be released late last year. The game was delayed until 2017, with Yamauchi admitting they didn’t want to compromise the quality of the game.
“While we cannot confirm a new release date at this time, we are more committed than ever to making GT Sport the best Gran Turismo game to date,” Yamauchi wrote.

A release date for GT Sport will be released later this year. The game will run in 4K, HDR and at 60 fps when it’s released.

Thrustmaster Pulls the Wraps off T-GT Wheel, Launches Alongside GT Sport

HARDWARE 335 [COLOR=#969696 !important]June 12, 2017 by Michael Leary
Thrustmaster has revealed its much-anticipated Gran Turismo Sport tie-in T-GT racing wheel this year’s E3.
Positioned as the company’s top offering, the T-GT will succeed the T500RS. The new peripheral is set to launch alongside GT Sport, an announcement scheduled for Sony’s E3 briefing later today.
The new wheel focuses on improved force feedback simulation. Thrustmaster claims that novel technologies, which include a new motor design and wheel linearity system, help the T-GT improve the driving feel.
The company equips the T-GT with its new T-40VE motor. This uses an integrated cooling system that the company calls T-MCE (motor cooling embedded), placed within the motor itself. It claims that this allows for better heat transfer and dissipation than previous models.
The Thrustmaster field oriented control system (T-FOC) uses Hall effect sensors to detect the wheel’s position more accurately than before.
A new feature dubbed ‘T-DFB’ (or ‘depth feedback’) aims to provide further clarity of feedback through the steering wheel rim. Thrustmaster comments that the system will allow users to better identify tire movement and surface conditions. The feature will be exclusive to GT Sport when launched.
Four rotary knobs dot the wheel’s hub. These can be used to adjust the game’s assists on the fly. Likewise, the two mini-sticks will allow easy navigation through menus, in addition to tailoring interior viewpoint positioning and perspective.
The T-GT racing wheel will initially retail for £699.99. This price includes the T-GT wheel base, T-GT wheel rim, T3PGT three-pedal set and power supply.
Thrustmaster has not confirmed an official release window, although the T-GT should launch at the same time as Gran Turismo Sport.

We’re as keen as all of you to get the game into player’s hands, and can’t wait to hear what everyone thinks of the game when it launches in October.

We’ve strived to create something that delivers an unprecedented experience in terms of the graphics, sound and physics simulation;an experience that can only be enjoyed on PlayStation.

Fair enough, for me I don't mind waiting as I don't have loads of spare time available for gaming, unfortunately! So playing just GTS for a year won't be that bad, infact what am I saying, it will be great!

Yes,I played 1 and 2 for a short period of time but played GT5 on PS3 for 2 years :).I don't have time to debate on GT vs Forza so i am requesting every Forza fans to refrain. I won't reply at all because GT is all that matters to me.
