Gaming PC buildup suggestion

Hi guys, as the title says, i want to buildup a gaming PC, so suggest me hardware which full fuil my needs ....
Here is the things which i have planned to do :
1: intel i7-4790K/4990K
2: 8 gigs of ram
3: 1 TB hard disk (Western Digital)
4: 650W/750W power supply
5: graphics card (confused in it) but iam considering ATI radeon R9 280/290/280X/290X

Further suggestions would be welcome :)

Get a less expensive processor (a 4th gen i5 would do). And get a better GPU than the 290 (something like the 970, or the 290X).

1. Fine, but Intel 5th generation Core processors for desktop market will be released soon.

2. I would recommend a "memory kit" for Dual Channel Memory setup. Look for Kingston HyperX series memory kit; if you are not able to find one then consider Corsair Vengeance series memory kit.

3. Get Western Digital Caviar Black series HDD (Great performance and quality).

4. Thermaltake Toughpower GP-850 (Excellent PSU).

6. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 GPU (Excellent Price/Performance/Features ratio).

So should i wait for new gen processors or buy the current ones ?
Is GTX 970 good as compared to ATI R9 series in every aspect ?

get a gtx 970 g1 gaming from gigabyte - good price n performance , you wont find any major gains from the 5th gen cpus over the 4th gen ones , except some gimmicks , get a gigabyte z97 black edition board which again is quite good performance and pair it with either an i5 4th gen or i7 4th gen .

16gb hyperx is good enough / thermal take 850watt or corsair 850watt depends on choise.

last but not least if you have money to spear get a ssd for the OS , it makes a lot of diff .

Dont know much about and role of SSD, can you please elaborate it ?

Using SSD as the main partition will give you substantial speed boost while booting windows and loading programs from it.

Supposedly you can now get a 128 SSD under 10k now.

agree with that , SSD will take your pc to next level, trust me i7 aint gona help , u save money by getting i5 4460 and get a SSD u will never regret

Checked the price of KINGSTON 120GB SSD, available in Rs.5800 ...
Should i go for KINGSTON or any other brand ?

buddy there a lot better SSD then kingston but sadly are not locally available here......Do check if you can find corsair force GT, using myself quite better then my kingston v300 ssd.

Don't go for V series of Kingston. They had some issues. I guess Corsair/Samsung are far better than Kingston!

For processor, go for i5 and you can spend the rest on RAM/SSD.

Get 16GB of ram if possible. I mean build something that could last for years.


Graphics card. Uhmm. Get the 280x. You'll be getting 290 with a stock cooler and that sucks. Any aftermarket cooler will work. :phone:
