Easily the best episode the show has ever had and one of the greatest episodes of all time for the TV.
Such a rare experience, full of memorable cinematography, phenomenal score and chilling sequences
And that final stare down between Jon Snow and Night's King, with no background music, just silence all over the place. It was something else.
Pure gold.
Something I haven't witnessed before on TV ever. And I have seen fair amount of TV

S05E08 was amazing nonetheless. But did anyone feel that the death of Thenn who tried to confront the White Walker was too stupid? I mean he was so confident in front of him. He should have been defensive and try to avoid his attacks and waste Walkers energy until Jon finds the dragon glass. But he went full aggressive and died too easily. Thenns are considered one of the best fighters in wildings. And the death of the mother wilding who put her children in the boat was stupid too. She just stood there and didn't fight at all when the wight children attacked her.

What an episode man... So much in one episode. Arya, Tyrion, Cersi, Wildling, White Walkers, Jon Snow ... all story arches almost reaching their peak. Its all shaping up nicely for the "signature" episode 09.

Yes... But not exactly.

In "the feast for crows" samwell finds out that dragonsteel can kill the others in the night watch records , and upon discussion with Jon snow, they agree that dragonsteel must mean the valaryian steel.
So valaryian steel = dragonsteel.
However, it has never been proven in the books yet... Got proved in the series though

Tyrion Lannister has one of the greatest lines in the history of TV. Absolutely brilliant

The chemistry between Tyrion and Danaerys was spectacular. Great stuff
