Hello,

I'm making AMD Build for a friend and looking for suggestions. Don't want to go over budget if there other hardware with lower cost if available. $500 for whole build w/o the GPU. Usage will be mainly gaming, encoding, editing, AfterEffects. The build needs to be future-proof as he won't be buying again for the next 5 years or so.

CPU
- AMD Ryzen 5 2600 3.4GHz 6-Core
Cooler
- ARCTIC Freezer 33 eSports ONE
GPU
- Asus Radeon RX 580 8GB OC ROG STRIX
Motherboard
- ASRock X470 Master SLI/AC
Memory
- Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-3000 C15
Storage
- Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM
Case
- Phanteks Eclipse P300 ATX Mid Tower
PSU
- Corsair CXM 550W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular

Updated: 5 Aug, 2018
============================================================

Q1: Should we go for 2600X and OC it with stock cooler or get the 2600 with aftermarket cooler and OC to 4GHz?
Q2: Which RX 580 to go for? MSI or Asus, price wise both has like $100 difference. Which one has better cooling?
Q3: Is the case good cooling/airflow wise?

Regards~

you have corsair ram and wd storage, this isnt a full amd build (lmao)

answers:
1 go for 2600x and a good cooler no matter how much it costs if you wanna OC'
2 clearly from the tests i have seen asus rog beats everthing
3 i 'll let others comment on this.

where will you be buying these from?, 500$ for all this stuff sounds like a good deal

Full AMD = CPU + GPU wise. Hehe

Is ARCTIC Freezer 33 eSports ONE good enough?

Getting all the hardware from the US/CA market. Everything without the GPU is like $540 + $370 GPU.

Change your motherboard to this: (better build quality + builtin wifi AC and bluetooth)
ASRock X470 Master SLI/AC AM4 AMD Promontory X470 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard - Newegg.com

GPU whichever you find cheaper among msi asus gigabyte

Research more on ram, find one that is friendly with ryzen also buy 2 4gb sticks rather than one 8gb.

One more suggestion is to build a smaller form factor machine, atx days are gone, there is literally no reason to buy such huge pc.
Changed the motherboard to the one you suggested above.

Changed the RAM to: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2 x 4GB @ 3000MHz. Will buy 2nd stick in the future.

And for the case, do you have any recommendations? The case mentioned in the OP is Mid Tower. Is it still too big?

Amazon.com: Phanteks Eclipse Steel ATX Mid Tower Tempered Glass Black Cases - PH-EC300PTG_BK: Computers & Accessories

TBH cases are very subjective, go with the one you like unless there is something critically wrong with it. One suggestion, always opt for Tempered Glass over acrylic panel as the former ones are too much low quality and scratch very easily hence look very bad within months. The casing I linked is tempered glass + fully metal outside.
PS: As you are going with ryzen, there are not many small form factor motherboards available so you are really left with normal ATX ones, and that Asrock one is a very very decent motherboard with good build quality, strong power phase design and very good features.

Aciel how are you importing these items, through a importer or someone bringing these items for you?
I wanted to build a Ryzen setup too but i am confused as there's no warranty and what if something goes wrong who will repair it here so isnt intel a better option, locally available plus warranty?

His brother is bringing him all the parts. Yes, I agree with about the risk, but buying from PK an AMD Build you have less choices to select from. Plus the price difference is crazy, almost like 25-35%. OCing an AMD cpu gives very reasonable results on budget level range.
