IMO it's the best in it's range. I've used it, and it was quite snappy.

Nope.

My Xperia U did have some heating issues but the Xperia L is flawless.

are you using some torrent client on your mobile?

yes.

basically root is like having system access to your operating system files. for example like there are admin and restricted accounts on windows. from a restricted account you cant install software, change the ip settings etc etc. its the same on linux (android). root access gives you permission to read/write system files as well just as you can read/write the files on your sd card.

so hence rooting a phone gives u more options to play with like overclocking, custom boot animations, custom roms, firewalls, backups etc
