Guys is there anyway installing MGMAPS on froyo?

I think I've told this to you before: use brut-mod and follow the guidelines to download the map cache It's far FAR better than MGMaps that way.

I don't understand half of what's written there. That's for people familiar with Android stuff.

Also, this G1 already has Cyanogen mod installed but the guy who did it messed it up. I need to kinda remove all that crap and redo everything. I need really clear instructions :s

See that's your problem right there.

If you weren't so familiar with Android stuff, why didn't you just use it as it is? Why did you have to get it rooted and get CMod on it when you just wanna USE Android.

We root because most of us know what the benefits are, not just to install some random crap and ruin the phone and then complain that there are no instructions. Sorry for being harsh but I really think you should Google on how to flash a stock firmware on a G1 ... if it's anything like the HTC Tattoo, it's pretty simple (provided you can clready run the HTC Sync software on your PC and that it can connect to the phone or something)

@ER..thanx for the help, now that i have installed Brut-mod maps, can i somehow copy the downloaded maps (that i download for MGMAPS) and use it with B-Mod? And how, if possible.

nope, download'em again. it's a different tile size. You can always try though, but it won't work.

i have cyanogen and it shows proxy settings i remember the stock eclair on the spica also displayed proxy options I dont know what some people here are ranting about!

Set the apn type to default for your internet and mms for the mms apn. Make sure you have two different apns for internet and mms.

I have no interest in that phone. My friend gave it to me. I'm getting myself an iTouch 4G 32GB

Got my friend's Desire for a day and I just fell in love with HTC Sense. Ordered a HTC Desire from Homeshopping but had to cancel it as it was not factory unlocked.
Now guys is the set really worth the money(IMO it is) if not than what should I go for(I hate touchwiz so no to Galaxy S).
Should I wait for Desire HD's price to drop or just go get my set?
Should I wait until the upcoming exhibition of January 6th?

desire is an ultimate phone have been using it for a couple of months and basically love it....i would recommend to wait till 6th cause its not that far off and see if something new comes up...otherwise buy the desire but dont get it from homeshopping get it frm the market

The new desires don't have AMOLED screens. Look out for that. Also, there's something lacking when it comes to multi-touch. The new Google Maps 5 has some features that aren't available on the Desire because of that.
