Just recently, I saw a video of Maulana sahib admitting of receiving funds from USA to run their madrassah.

Dear Pakistanis, kindly vote for better Pakistan.

Dollar has reached 130 and by the end of this year it will be 150.

Import duty, transaction fees, everything has doubled in last 5 years..

Keep your temporary benefits/financial gains aside and think for your next generation.

Army coup and marshal law is much better . Pakistan was doing much better during ayub Khan and musharraf tenure then it has done in so called democracy .
Zia ul haq ka zamana bhi marshal law tha...why did you skip that?

under democracy people have the power, in dictatorship one person has all the power - if that one person is a retard the whole nation goes down with him, and you cant do anything about it

use your vote smartly.

Jumping into this thread.

I'll vote for PTI.

There are some clear reasons for it. And we all know what he has done in previous 2-3 years for us.
Though Martial law is better for this country. 'Laaton k bhoot baton se nahi maantay'. But it has a long term effect on country. Economy goes down. Literally. If there's someone who is deserving it's Imran Khan, he has a very good vision. He has done so much for KPK in the last 5 years as he was elected in there. Education, healthcare and low terrorism rate (don't forget KPK was the most affected area and talking about police not army).
I'm glad to see that there's no one who is voting for our so called Democratic people. (Signs of maturity and professionalism).

The only guy worth voting for is Jibran Nasir, but he's not a candidate in my area. Not sure what to do. :|

Sure is but it has the pros.

In that system you have only one cheater and one reason to blame for all the causes.
But the underlings always work to their best due to fear of one leader.

Here?
Fuck man, azaadi hai, karo na karo koi nahi pakray ga kyun k dosra ajaiga jab tak hum chalejainge.

And yes, this is me. I have lived throughout corruption my entire life here.
Only good time I spent quality time? Musharrafs, despite all this retardation, This felt more safer to me.

Thats the highest benchmark, since i gained a personal conscious.

Koi nahi dikta jo kar sakta hai.
If PTI comes in power, i hope it does something different otherwise, this society is flawed.

(Personal opinion, lads)

Your point would've been valid had we were living in countries like Turkey, or North Korea. Where people are actually literate and know the importance of using their vote. Sad to say when ~60% of your general public is living under Rs.100/day, and don't know what does general election mean, you can not expect the democracy to prevail there.

Most people in Pakistan have a very fallacious view about dictatorship. Actually it's not just one person in command, there's joint staff who take part in controlling a state. I would still say 2000-2008 were the best times for Pakistan, and most of the civilians would agree with this statement.

And your second argument couldn't be any more wrong. No, there's NO power to the people in our setup. Come visit interior sindh, or even southern punjab for that matter and you'll see the "privileged" common man suffering to make it two meals a day.

The democracy would only ripe until and unless the literacy rate goes up and people are made aware of who are they voting for. I bet 90% of people here don't even know the names of the candidates contesting from their constituency and they would go mark on their favorite political party regardless.

Probably PTI, they're the best possible candidates in this situation.

If anything, I'd be voting against maulvis. Because fuck their twisted morals and their "sharia law". Politics and religion should always, ALWAYS be separated because they will contort and bend Islam to fit their agenda.

Also fuck the army and fuck marshal laws. Your army is responsible for training all extremists we're having problem with now. ISI is a devil disguised as an angel. They do not care about the people. I don't know about you but I don't want my family to be killed in cold-blood by operatives over a tweet or something. Everyone who wishes the army take over is delusional.

Sorry for the heated language, just needed to get this off of my chest.

Behind yer back
i know i will be inviting lot of sarcasm after this post.
But Being right and fair is better + i am a neutral citizen who only wants good for his country and for himself.

I have given a vote to pmln cuz everybody knows then almost eradicated the loadshedding menace whatever the cost may be...

But i thinks new blood and non corrupt people can help this country. So i gave 1 vote to Pti too...

Everybody has two votes(federal+provincial) so make use of it.

Best of both worlds... ;)

.
Why? Literacy doesn't equal to common sense. Education doesnt mean good judgement. In my opinion :

An "educated" man can be stupid, and an illetrate man doesn't make him/her stupid. Contemporary education doesn't suddenly make someone into a god..For example : no one knew about PTI 15 years ago, then it gain more seats, then become the 2nd biggest party in Pakistan in last election, and predictions are that it might get the most amounts of votes this time around.

This is NOT to say or undermine the effects of education on awareness or critical thinking - but we cant generalize in this manner, is what I am getting at

The biggest corrupt politicians in the world, africian dictators, arabian dictators - have ALL received highest quality of education (This statement is relevant to Pakistan aswell). And the same is true vice versa : some of the most proficient businessman here in Pakistan, (and even in the US, they say "collage dropout" - but that's slightly beside the point), are not highly educated

Most people in Pakistan have a very fallacious view about dictatorship. Actually it's not just one person in command, there's joint staff who take part in controlling a state. I would still say 2000-2008 were the best times for Pakistan, and most of the civilians would agree with this statement.
Its not actually about one single person giving every order or a team giving the order. The fact remains, that in a dictatorship 1) That person has the power and authority to overrule and veto any decision, at his/her will . 2) There isnt any accountability, they dont have anyone to answer, since they can manipulate laws
Look as a person growing up in Karachi during 2000-2008 era, I like Musharraf, but one person cant be why we follow a process. Democratic process has to run its course and given time.

Let me put it in footballing terms, as I know you like football like me : Its a bad idea and a huge risk to have a team all about one star player, instead of investing in youth, building a team and having a process where young players are groomed and matured.

And your second argument couldn't be any more wrong. No, there's NO power to the people in our setup. Come visit interior sindh, or even southern punjab for that matter and you'll see the "privileged" common man suffering to make it two meals a day.

Look again, anecdotal evidence or generalistic statements are not how is not policy should be formed. Democracy as a process have alot of books written, critically analysed by researchers and scientists, almost all "successful" governments around the world have been formed on some sort of democratic process.

Also meaning that even in an "low" educated environment, given time, the societies tend to self-correct themselves. I posted the link in an earlier reply. This ( Education's effect on democracy) phenomenon has also been critically researched on.

I will leave you with a Winston Churchill quote " Many forms of Government have been tried, and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed it has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.…"

This should shed some light aswell : The Democratic Process in Egypt: The Success of Democracy is Not a Question of Education - Qantara.de

So i went out to vote & half-way through the long line, i found out that we cant bring phones with us. There was no relative or friend present on my polling station, so i ended up returning home. Wasted vote i guess...

Hoping for PTI to win this time though. Everyone else has had their chance, so let the new man have his chance as well. Worst case scenario, he'll turn out the same as others before him. Best case scenario, he'll live upto his words & there will be change... Positive change.

@NaNoW - @assasin42o -
you are overestimating the critical thinking of our common folk.
They lack the education, and thus they lack in proper thinking because they do not know what it is that they should want instead of what is already given to them.

Its the ignorance which is manipulative en-masse in our country. That is why lack of education also limits the need for ambitions. They are satisfied at the minimal needs because they do not know more. (If I havent emphasized enough)
And this also plays a role in people favoring their closely related folks, Sindhi for Sindhi, Punjabi for Punjabi, etc.
so Democracy does not work effectively in the end with these factors.

Things are more different outside of the cities and they play a bigger role than we think.

Just thought i'd throw in for the sake of proper discussion. B)

Yeah man, damn an institution hellbent on destroying everything that feeds them and get no proper proper benefits in return for doing that.

I am against marshal law myself. But your other remarks regarding army are unjustified.
In the past army has made many mistakes but do bare in mind some actions are need of the moment.
I also believe because of our army and ISI, Pakistan is still going on otherwise we would have been the next syria / yemen / iraq.

Every other day pakistan army's soldiers and officers are killed. its in every newspaper.
you should learn to respect the people giving their lives for your protection.
you are so concerned about your family's safety over some tweet, have you ever thought about those
parents who send off their sons for country's defense and receive them back in coffins? or
the little children who lose their fathers?

its sad when educated people keep such hatred against their own army.
