Hey guys,

I usually check out the "Post your gaming setups" thread a lot and I have seen casings that have almost zero dust in them. Now I really want to know what is the secret behind it? I clean my system atleast once a week but the dust on the motherboard and other areas remains. So could someone guide me a bit or should I just buy a blower and start with that?

It's called routine maintenance. Having one of those dust blower machines really helps. You can get a soft bristled brush to do a more thorough cleaning.

Also, does the filters like the ones on V3 Black edition (casing) help in reducing dust entering system through fans?

Mene apnay processor per blower mara tha 4 months pehle. Andar say makri k jaalay niklay thay. I am now worried as my GPU also blew due to excessive dust in the system. I wanna know whether the filters I mentioned above help in reducing dust?

Yes the dust filters help a lot.
I have Asus TA-M1 chassis with two side panel fans and one front. All of them are intake. The front intake fan has a dust filter with it hardly any dust comes inside the case through that area, the drive bays are barely dusty even if i clean them after a month.
The two side panel fans have no dust filter, i have a mesh side panel so almost all the dust in the case enter from that area.
I use blower to clean my Chassis, THATS IT :D

Aray :D You got a pc ? Xbox ka kya kiya ? Ek game toh khel lete becharay per :p Congrats. And yes filters do help. However they wont block every particle from entering. Its like it will stop 50% of the dust from entering.

Shary: Dust filters help MASSIVELY. Period.

hotgamer: Just tape those holes shut if you don't plan on installing a dust filter + fan combo there.

I would suggest install dust filters in the intake fans on your computer chassis.

I have lived both in Karachi and Lahore and I have seen that my system gets more dusty here then in Lahore in the same time.

I need to clean my system every other week in karachi to keep it performing well.

Airflow is also a very important factor when working with dustfilters, its important to make sure intake fans are making use of the dust filters, not so important with outtake fans, without dust filters my old case got dirty in about a month, now we a good dust filter system and airflow i have yet to see much dust buildup before 4-5 months, and having a good blower helps also takes 2 seconds to clean the entire case with a powerful one

My chassis don't have side panel I remove it due to Summers :D I don't care about dust at all I take blower and blew all dust once in a month. So I will suggest you get a blower and be dust free :p Inner dust particles which are deep in brain heat sink, psu and gpu heat sink can only be remove by blower or Mouth blower by (foooo foooo)

Caution: I can't guarantee of mouth blower. Use it at your own risk.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I have the CM Storm Sniper AMD Edition so all the intake fans have dust filters, I am going to buy a blower from Makro so that will hopefully be the end of it. I usually wash the casing's washable parts once every two weeks or so but I guess the blower is the best option there is.

yes bro if you don't wash your chassis components it wont matter that much but cleaning with blower will help you much more your pc components will be like new. when use blower, keep some distance between pc and blower like at-least 1 feet. + get blower rates from local market cheap ones are available there. Makro and metro rates are high but they have good quality stuff + more variety.
