Download Online Content via PC to PS3 :: Tutorial

(@TrueCoolGuy) hey man, I am almost done downloading GTA 4, I used your "Default Link" method to acquire the IP-less download link, can you tell me how I can transfer it back from my PC - PS3? like do I have to repeat the steps to get the original link? as in start download with net on, disconnect telephone line from modem, resume download again but with the file in "replace files" along with the link?

P.S, if you could tell me step by step, I would highly appreciate it. I know its asking a lot but I just wanna get this over with asap. Looking to play GTA 4 and the DLC's properly before GTA 5 lands.

I did it twice. And both times, it would cycle through the same 5 ip addresses and then come back to the original one.

You just answered your own question. Yes, that's how you're supposed to do it. And I already have a step by step tutorial for this trick in the Original Post.

If you notice, I got the same ip address four times. Then a different one repeatedly. It didn't cycle through like it did last time. But whenever it does, I'll update you. Thanks for the tutorial, by the way. Really helpful.

After the last post, I paused the download again. After that it gave me different addresses but eventually got back to the original one, as you can see in the screenshot.

The link repeated around 15 minutes after the first time. It's cool that they repeat but I don't think it's be practical to wait for a link to repeat (even if it takes less than 15 mins).

These two methods combined feel like godsend for us guys.

Glad it worked for ya. It only works if you're a PS+ member but this will hopefully hold people off till I actually try to find a way to make patches work again.

No, you need the same amount of space as you would need if you were downloading from the PS3.

This is for original PS3s, not jailbroken ones.

its not reading content from my PC when im trying to transfer the downloaded game, speed stays shit slow..the ip address in the link keeps changing so i even tried the default link method and even that didnt work(i dont have a separate router, so for the default link method i just removed my ptcl cable to disconnect the internet)

You probably are doing something wrong if the speeds are staying low it means it is downloading off PSN. Repeat the steps and use the default link method. I'll post a quick guide here
1. Establish connection b/w your PC and PS3 (check logs to ensure if its working or not, it will show you PSN login link)
2. Resume your GTA V download.
3. Remove telephone wire from your router and wait for the PS3 to give you 'can't download' error.
4. Check the logs at the PS3GUISERVER and copy that link with no IP address
5. Paste that link in the replace section along with the Path to the GTA V pkg file on your PC.

You have the PKG file on your PC rite? You downloaded off PSN or some torrent tracker?

yup i have the pkg file, downloaded it last night from PSN using Flashget..one question..after it gives me the download error and i paste the default link, do i reconnect the telephone wire and then resume? or resume and then reconnect the wire
