Because I am a full time student at Minnesota State university and supporting myself for last 20 months and ITS HARD. Also, I think it Can be a great experience. It has to be a atleast 4 year active duty service and chances of getting deployed in "Middle East" are high. My school will be paid by ARMY (I can only take online classes though) and I sweet deal is that I will get my citizenship without even getting a green card. In next 3-5 months I will have a American Citizenship and I can visit my family in Canada and UK with on arrival Visa. Its a steady job and pays kind of decent considering the health/housing benefits.
There r two sides of coin
At the moment u r just one side
Personally I won't feel bad for u until u don't come across in Afghanistan n opposite to salala post with ur guns pointing at Pakistan!
U r doing it to get free education n citizenship but are you sure u will survive middle east future ISIS conflict n intervention of US ground troops? Honestly there is basically nothing wrong in joining other armies or services of other countries. My one relative is actually in NYPD so we all will feel proud for u until u know when to leave, only ur morality can determine what u can do n what u can't! That includes not justifying to urself the Muslim killings they ask you to commit. You need not to justify to anyone else but ur own whatever they ask you to do against Muslims in general n Pakistan in particular. Otherwise as some friend said it's just like having dual nationalities. But Ru sure with free education u will not get a free bullet in ur butt while ur time in middle east? How u will manage studies n ur hectic duty as u will be Sepoy in that army whereas u can be an officer in Pakistan army
U can get free engineering degree whole being in Pakistan army. U can even get a PhD for free if ur good at studies. Anyway getting free education
doesn't sound appealing to me.
