Disappointment - Wrong Suggestionz

Last few days back i had a system whose specs were,


Dell gx 280 3.0 ghz
1 gb ram
300 watt psu


I posted a thread in this forum that i'm planning to buy 9300gs 512 mb....so can this card run games like Gta 4, modern warfare 2 etc etc....

&

The comments i got were that one cannot even think of gaming on this card, it will not run gta 4, it will *probably* run modern warfare 2 on low settings, n some comments were like this card is good for photoshop CS5 not for gaming, forget gaming on this card,

But i took a step, as i was not having enough money to buy a good card like 9800gt etc...i bought 9300gs....n fixed it in a machine mentioned above.

and for all those members who posted above mentioned comments, let me tell you that i ran Gta 4 on medium settings n it worked like a charm. i ran modern warfare 2 in high settings. i played Just cause 2 on high settings. Blur on high settings. Mass effect 2 worked like a charm.

Now the point for making this thread is that all those members who dont anything, please dont give wrong suggestions or mis guide people. Please itz a request...

Now i have a core 2 duo, with 2 gb ram & by tomorrow i'll buy a GTS 250....i hope i'll be able to play Gta 4 in high settings then.. ...

I used to always be surprised how much horsepower my P4 and 7600GS system actually had. Much much higher than reviews stated it would be. I ended Fallout 3 uptil 1366x768 at med-high settings with AA. I ended Supreme Commander and Medieval II: Total War(great looking game) as well with fairly high image quality. I played Dead Space, Portal, Left 4 Dead, Halo 2, Bioshock and Sins of a Solar Empire as well. Highest settings at 1366x768.

Even my Intel built-in can handle Rome: Total war(with upto 2-3,000 onscreen units) and Half-life 2.

It just goes to show that you should never trust reviewer sites on payroll of hardware companies to always recommend the most expensive products to buyers. Use your personal experience with products.

Hey, We suggested you what was best for you, My GTS 250 on i5 hardly gets more than 50FPS average in GTA4.

What resolution were you playing at?? and What was the draw distance set at??

Dual core's can hardly handle the game and if your single core lets you play at a decent frame rate then good for you.

BTW 9300GS is a low-end card. I am amazed to see it performing that well in GTA4.

Excluding it, i played all the games on pretty high settings on 9300gs.....Later my friend told me that he played Gta 4 on 8600gt n one of my friend played it on 7900gt. So i dont know what you guyz think while you are posting. lawl....

i am amazed to see that how badly 9300gs is degraded here...lawl....go for it guyz....itz not that bad...belive me..


well i'll post my reviews after i play it on a gts 250...n on my core 2 duo....letz see....

7900gt and 8600gt have nearly the same performance. and 8600gt is pretty good at running gta 4. but the thing that amazes me is that u're running a single core with a 9300gt and still getting good performance.
my brother with his E6750 and 8800GTS (G92) got only 25-25FPS @ 1440X900

B/w..I Have Personally Noticed That Our Custom Build PCs And Branded HP Dell Pcs Having Same Spec Have Quiet Alot Of Difference...!!
I Must Say That HP Dell Designed Boards On Same Intel Chipsets Performs Much Better Than Intel's....!!
I Am Using HP D530 Now On My P-4 3.0GHZ HT 478Pin..I Replace It With My Famous Intel D865GBF Board Which Fails Right Around Completing 4 Years Appx...!!And These Two Boards Share Same Intel Chipset But Other Than That....Huge Difference Is There In Running And Speed...!!
Also Using Shroud Type CPU Cooler Which Came In Branded Systems And Its Just Awesome...! Stock Intel HSF Fails Once and Then I Got Other.....So Point To Prove Is That These Branded Machines Performs Way Up Then Our Custom Ones....This Is For Sure....!!

I tried to run gta eflc on my rig and what i got was 25-50 fps @ 1024 with everything low

i could have posted the screenshots easily but the point is, i wrote in my first post that i have upgraded my machine to intel core 2 duo now......n by tomorrow i will get a gts 250......n all this upgrade was done only to play Gta 4 in *high detail* .... ...

n lastly, dekha jaye tau i dont need to proove it to you, i ran the game in medium settings on the specs i wrote in my post....n it worked.........main bhi itna hee amazed tha jitna tum log meri post parh k ho...but itz true... ...sirf baat itni ki maine k mujhe jo yahan suggestions mili theen they were like k Gta 4 on 9300gs ????/ huhhhh jokes....9300gs tau photoshop cs5 chalanay k kaam aata hai...lawl...

i lykd your point...may be this could be the case...n yea i have a branded dell machine...but now i have core 2 duo...i changed it just for playin GTa 4 in high settings.. ...but i agree with you as your point seems to be much valid... !

i got an 8600GT and its shit for 1440x900
9300GT wont do it for a 19inch LCD either
its a pathetically slow card man

unless u can specify how much FPS u were getting on which settings we cant say for sure if 9300GT is worth the buy coz its not
sometimes when u keep playing a game at 20FPS u get used to it and think tht its running smoothly

couple of years back my friend claimed his Intel chip was running MostWanted smoothly at 1280x960 Resolution
i did believe him and went to chk it at his PC
for him it was running smoothly but for me it was lagging like hell

i myself have used built in Intel chip for quite sometime playing many games i can safely say u get used to the lag
