The DF video says they captured the game at the highest possible settings and were told everything is set to Ultra.
Funny. Because even aside from this tweet, I've heard them say the settings menu in the PC should not be taken as the final version, and that they're still working on certain things.

Maybe a Bungie intern told DF the wrong info lol

I agree the PC version looks loads better.

Though here's a very quick look on all the PC settings at E3 from a very popular Destiny youtuber. You can see the FOV slider is not here, and most settings are set to "medium".

This is not the only person to have said that the PC settings aren't final.

[h=1]Destiny 2 beta preload begins tomorrow on PS4, Xbox One[/h]

[h=2]If you have a beta key[/h]

The Destiny 2 beta doesn’t go live until next week, but you can prepare for the party by preloading the beta starting July 13, publisher Activision confirmed today to Polygon.

Downloads of the beta will be available worldwide as of 10 a.m. PDT tomorrow, an Activision representative told Polygon. The spokesperson also confirmed that the preload time applies to both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, even though the beta will go live a day earlier on PS4. There’s no word on the download size yet.
While Activision will eventually open up the Destiny 2 beta to all PS4 and Xbox One owners, you’ll only be able to preload it if you have a code. There are only two ways to obtain a beta key: pre-ordering the game, or receiving a code from a third party — like, say, a gaming publication such as Polygon! (We’ve got a bunch of codes from Activision, and we’ll be doing a giveaway soon.)

The Destiny 2 beta will be available first for people who have pre-ordered the game on PS4, starting at 10 a.m. PDT next Tuesday, July 18. It will expand to include Xbox One pre-order customers 24 hours later, at 10 a.m. on July 19. Two days afterward, at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 21, the beta will open up to all PS4 and Xbox One owners. The beta will end 35 hours later, at 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 23.

Activision is also planning to run a beta for Destiny 2’s Windows PC version. However, the company has not given a time frame more specific than “late August” for that.
As for what you’ll be able to play, the beta will feature the same content that Bungie showed off at E3 2017: the campaign’s opening mission, “Homecoming”; a strike called The Inverted Spire; and two Crucible gametypes, Countdown and Control. Only one subclass will be playable for each class: the Arcstrider Hunter, Sentinel Titan and Dawnblade Warlock. All three of them are new for Destiny 2. In addition, beta testers will be able to check out the game’s new social space, The Farm — but only for an hour starting at 10 a.m. on the last day of the beta.
Destiny 2 will be released Sept. 6 on PS4 and Xbox One. The PC version, which is being developed by Bungie and Vicarious Visions, won’t launch until Oct. 24.

[h=1]Destiny 2’s beta sounds like an actual beta[/h]

[h=2]Expect some jank, Guardians[/h]

If you’re one of the many people who are excited to try Destiny 2’s beta, you should know that — as a slice of a game that’s still in development — it may not run as smoothly as you’d expect the final game to run.
The beta arrives next week, less than two months before Destiny 2 launches on consoles onSept. 6. (A beta for the Windows PC version is coming in “late August,” so there will be a similar gap between it and the PC version’s Oct. 24 debut.) Major publishers have made something of a mockery of the word “beta” in recent years. We’ve often seen the term used to describe an experience going live so soon before a game’s release date that it’s hard to believe it’s anything more than a glorified demo, or a stress test of servers.
Destiny 2 publisher Activision will open up the beta to all PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners, so it stands to reason that a test of the game’s new network infrastructure is part of the plan for Bungie. But the studio said in a blog post yesterday that “as this is a beta build, some issues will be present and may impact gameplay.” Here’s the full list from Bungie of known problems that beta testers may run into:

  • Players may experience a variety of networking error codes when attempting to play the Beta
  • Bungie will be testing server stability throughout the Beta, which may cause error codes to appear periodically
  • Location names sometimes do not appear during Crucible gameplay
  • Players sometimes are Kicked to Orbit after witnessing a black screen when entering a Countdown match
  • Players may sometimes be placed at the beginning of the Inverted Spire Strike Activity when joining in progress
  • Sandbox balancing is still taking place: Some weapons or abilities may have higher or lower damage than intended
  • Not all content has been localized in all languages
Bungie added that anyone who encounters an issue not listed above should post about it on the studio’s Help forum.
Anybody who has a beta key can preload the Destiny 2 beta right now on PS4 or Xbox One. The beta will be available first for people who have pre-ordered the game on PS4, starting at 10 a.m.

[h=1]Destiny 2 beta had initial server issues (update: all clear!)[/h]

[h=2]We’re shocked[/h]

Update (1:40 p.m. ET): Seems like this was just a hitch at the start. Multiple Polygon staffers have now been able to log in to the Destiny 2 beta. Jump in, Guardians!
Original story: The Destiny 2 beta went live for PlayStation 4 pre-order customers at 1 p.m. ET today, but surprise, surprise: They’re having trouble getting in.
With the apparent flood of users trying to defend The Last City from a Cabal invasion, Bungie’s servers seem to be overwhelmed. Here’s the error message that the Destiny 2 beta gave us when we tried to log in:
Welp. Bungie/ActivisionBungie released a patch for the beta earlier, updating the client to version 1.02. But it’s typical for the studio to issue tiny files that Destiny players need to download during launches like this. We’re still trying to get in, and we’ll update this article to let you know when the situation is resolved. In the meantime, maybe you’re lucky enough to keep yourself busy with a gamer survival kit that your significant other made for you.
The Destiny 2 beta will go live tomorrow at 1 p.m. ET on Xbox One, and at the same time on Friday, July 21, for all PS4 and Xbox One owners. For more information, check out our full post on the beta.

[h=1]Destiny 2 open beta extended two days[/h]

[h=2]Now wrapping up Tuesday evening[/h]

Destiny 2's open beta has been extended, Bungie has announced. It will now end on Tuesday, July 25 at 9 p.m. ET.
Bungie made the announcement over Twitter yesterday afternoon.

The Destiny 2 Open Beta has been extended through Tuesday 7/25 for additional service testing. Expected completion is 6 PM PDT.

The beta began Tuesday, July 18 for those who had preordered the game on PlayStation 4, was opened to everyone (on PS4 and Xbox One) on Friday, July 21 and was originally due to end at 9 p.m. on Sunday. Bungie has extended that "for additional service testing."
Already, Bungie has been making adjustments to Destiny 2 based on player feedback from the beta. On Thursday, Bungie's Rob Engeln said that ammunition drop rates, particularly power ammunition, were increased "giving power weapons a more reliable and predictable role in your arsenal." Other tuning has been made to features such as grenade effectiveness and weapon damage versus NPC enemies.
Destiny 2 is on course for a Sept. 6 launch. Our impressions of the game based on the beta — which Bungie says is a months-old build of the game — are here; the verdict is Destiny 2is very familiar for longtime Destiny players, which is both good and bad.

Destiny 2 beta hits PC on Aug. 28, system specs revealed

Four days of keyboard and mouse action

Windows PC gamers will be able to try the Destiny 2 beta for four days starting Aug. 28, developer Bungie announced today.
Players who have pre-ordered Destiny 2 will get a day of early access. Bungie will open up the beta to all PC gamers on Aug. 29, and it will run until Aug. 31.
Pre-order customers should have received an early access code for the beta from their retailer. They’ll have to redeem the code on Bungie’s website in order to unlock access to the PC beta. Note that customers only get one beta download code for each pre-order, regardless of platform — if you already redeemed an early access code for the console beta, you’ll have to wait until the open beta on Aug. 29 to play it on PC.
The beta concluded earlier this week on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, after Bungie extended it for two days beyond the original July 23 end date. It was “the biggest Bungie beta ever,” the studio said. The PC version of the beta will likely offer the same content, and because the game itself will be available exclusively through Blizzard Entertainment’s Battle.net, the beta will probably require it as well. We’ve reached out to the studio for confirmation, and we’ll update this article with any information we receive.
Bungie also provided PC hardware specifications for the Destiny 2 beta, although the studio noted that they could change before the PC version launches. Here are the details:

Recommended Spec
CPU
Intel - Core i5-2400
AMD - Ryzen R5 1600X

GPU
Nvidia - GeForce GTX 970
AMD - Radeon R9 390

RAM
8GB
Minimum Spec
CPU
Intel - Core i3-3250
AMD - FX-4350

GPU
Nvidia - GeForce GTX 660 2GB
AMD - Radeon HD 7850 2GB

RAM
6GB

Bungie has shown Destiny 2 at multiple events over the past few months, using computers that could run the game in
4K resolution at 60 frames per second. (The PC version will support frame rates of up to 144 fps.) Those beefy rigs each featured a Core i7-7700K processor and a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti video card, in case you’ve got a wad of cash burning a hole in your pocket.

Destiny 2 will launch Sept. 6 on PS4 and Xbox One. The PC version will arrive Oct. 24. For more on the beta, read our in-depth impressions.
