He likes the visuals and appreciates the environmental density, but doesn't find it to be a next-gen game. Actual next-gen reveals have spoiled him.

Gameinformer cover reveal

On top of all the information we gathered, our cover story includes new exclusive screenshots and art spread across 14 pages of the issue, as well as a special surprise for print magazine readers when they receive their copies in the coming days. It’s one of our biggest stories this year on one of the games we’re most excited about, so don’t miss it.

Cyberpunk 2077's wall running scrapped due to design reasons | Gamereactor

If you've followed Cyberpunk 2077's development you've most likely seen the extensive gameplay presentations of the game and in one of the gameplay sessions, namely the 48-minute session from August of 2018, a snippet was shown of a mantis blade-equipped V using the wall running mechanic to prop herself up on a wall above a group of enemies. After having played the game for four hours earlier this week (read our hands-on impressions here), we had a chat with Cyberpunk 2077 level designer Max Pears about the vertical traversal in the game.

We asked whether or not wall running would come to be part of the vertical exploration of Cyberpunk 2077 and got a surprising answer.
"Ah, the wall running" Pears exclaimed, "that is something that we removed due to design reasons, but there's still going to be a lot of flexibility in how you move, that's for sure".

So there you have it - there will be no wall running in Cyberpunk 2077, but that doesn't mean traversal will be limiting in any way.

Are you excited to play Cyberpunk 2077?
It looks like the mechanic was axed more recently, as you can see some enemy animations in the gameplay footage that indicate they were previously able to wall run.

PC Gamer article makes a very good point. (y)

I don't mind hearing that wall-running has been cut—I think it's typically included in games because it's trendy, not because it actually adds anything of value, and it's also an upsetting reminder that we still don't have sight of a new Titanfall sequel. But even without that personal perspective, I can see why CD Projekt would opt to let it slide. Shooters like Titanfall 2 are built around relatively small levels in which forward progress is everything, but in a larger and vastly more complex open world like that of Cyberpunk 2077, I have to think that it's just begging for no end of unforeseen headaches.

Couple of Witcher 3 easter eggs in the trailer/gameplay footage. They're most probably gonna have a Ciri easter egg too.

The Rayfield car we steal in the b-roll is named after the silver sword Aerondight.

This one isn't hard to figure out

So that's .. the third (fourth ?) thing we can derive has been cut from the original reveals.

Ah well, as long as it lets them hit their release.
Yeah, apparently it helps, but some people are only keeping tabs on this game lol

And thats not counting the documented downgrades from that E3 reveal that wasn't shared on PG lol

Ah well, if simple linear games get a lot of content cuts i guess its not a surprise when massive complex open worlds go through the same process.

Not to continue to drag other games into this, but I can see why there's a snapshot, and not a link to the article, because this is what it says:

Gross said that cutting content was the hardest part and admitted that a lot of things didn't make it into the final version of the game because they didn't end up matching the story or its themes.
https://www.thegamer.com/last-of-us-part-2-cut-content/

Cutting mainly story things that don't fit the narrative is not the same as cutting game play features you've announced/shown in previous presentations eg first/third person choice, wall running, subways etc (I'm not sure if the third one was announced as a prominent thing, not following the game close enough) :p

I really want to keep the discussion in this topic to CP2077 only :blush

Oh sure, unless you're suggesting that all that got cut was a big chunk of cut scenes because thats all the game is about lol

Just pointing out how the usual hate brigade comes out with these things but are protective over their own games :blush

I hope whatever decisions CDPR are making are to help them maintain the release date because personally I still believe this game will slip 2020.

Pretty ignorant to assume that cuts are saving development time when the game has been content complete since the early portion of this year.

Well .. we are finding out about cut things *now* after all, so I'm just rolling with it.

They also said not to expect any more delays in March/April.

For a game of this scope, I won't believe it's complete until it goes gold.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
