CryoVenom Build and Home Theater Upgrade!

So after a long break of not making/upgrading to a new system, I've decided to make a new build from scratch. I will update this original post with the finalized specs as soon as i decide them. But to start off, I'd like to show you what GPU I will be using. I've decided on venturing into the AMD platform, so I've gone with the R9 290. But it's not your run of the mill, stock 290. It's a custom overclocked 290, with an EK waterblock installed by Visiontek.

I have to admit, this is the most awesome packaging I have ever seen for a GPU. I'll let the pics do the talking:

[MENTION=9503]mave3[/MENTION]: It was 550 dollars. I think its priced extremely well considering it came with an EK waterblock installed and overclocked. Most other 290's that are OC'ed are at the 600 dollar price point.

I have seen lots of unboxing on Pakgamers. Some where good. some where ok! This unboxing? it was a Jaw dropping! :eek:
That box was looked it i contains some classified weapons lol. But i have to admit it was nice very very nice.

So here's a big update. Got the water cooling components! I've decided to give a try at rigid tubing instead of the standard flexible tubing. It's more work, but it looks ALOT nicer once completed. Here are the pics:

















Next post will have pics of my home theater set up!

    It may win the "best visuals" category, but that's about it. A GOTY contender needs to nail all aspects (Story, Gameplay, Visuals, etc)

    Just downloaded Farm Simulator 2024. The game is available for free on Epic fo limited time. I always wondered how our food is harvested. This game endorsed by the UN will reveal the process of farming.

    BTW, i started Ghost of Tsushima, and it got me hooked within the first couple of minutes. I already know It's gonna be a memorable experience. This is how you make a proper Samurai game. Not that SJW game Ubisoft is making.

    That's still higher than it's total play length. A 5 hour campaign for a $50 game is downright scammy.

    I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

    As per WCCF Tech review, Xbox Series X doesn't even maintain a consistent FPS and sometimes drops into the mid-20fps range. That's unacceptable, tbh.

    Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.

    Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.
