hey guys...i need some help here....planning on starting a competition on (check my nick:p....im not advertising:p)....but im having a hard time finding out what sorts. there are a few ideas in my head...ill list them down here...you guys can pool in your suggestions too.

1. Case mod competition: This competition would require people to buy the case and mod it. I am thinking of offering the cheapest case available on the store which is xigmatek asgard. Contestants will maintain a log on our forums and update it weekly showing their progress....whoever gets to mod it the best would win. Im thinking of putting up handsome amount of cash prize for the winner (dont ask me how much and dont think its gonna be 1lac) and some products for the runner up and second runner up.

2. Ocing competition (muhd might be the first to say YES to this one). Once again this competition would require contestants to buy a specific gskill kit, and then show their max STABLE oc. same prizes for this too....handsome amount of cash for the winner (dont ask me how much and dont think its gonna be 1lac) and products for runner up and second runner up

These are the 2 types o competition that i could think of. i thought ill ask here maybe some1 else comes up with a better idea

More of us would be interested in GPU/CPU/Ram OCing Competitions than Case modding. But only G.Skill/Sparkle/Xigmatek owners can enter or would it be open for us all? :|

it would be brand specific...not open to any brand. keeping it open defies the whole point of the competition.

Dont have any competition which uses Components like CPU... It will defeat the purpose and can unfair advantage to ppl with 6 core processors :p

So in OC'ing, will there be different categories for the variations in a brand. For example, within Gskill separate category for each type and rating of rams........

no categories....we can select one kit....on which every1 will oc....whoever gets the max stable one would win...that would ensure that every1 gets an equal chance...ofcourse oc'ing depends on your board too but then thats your own problem:p

so lets say if i buy a g.skill ram kit lets say 1333 ripjaws my motherboard is not a good overclocker i mean not too many options. So dont u think that wud be unfair ? :p I mean darksidious can take his rams above 2000 with sandy bridge etc. i cant compare my hardware with his ?: P so obviously he'll win :p. there should be categories :)

lol then wats the point if i have to buy a new mobo and the ram for the competition ? :p Not a good motivator :p. If there are categories lets say DDR3 1333 with 775, DDR3 1600 with 1156,1366 and DDR3 2000 with 1155 gen processors. Then it can work good :)

I agree with this guy. There should be categories or some particular chipset holders should be eligible for the competition.

yar Kamran is right there should be categories. I might also enter as going to buy G-Skill after selling Vengeance :p

Why not make a guru3d rig of the month competition similar to that i mean......the winner decides so the same person wont be winning the same time :p
