CM Real power pro 650w not supporting GTS 450

Guys i have the above mentioned PSU, i purchased the sparkle GTS 450 OC few days back. My PC was working fine with 8600 GT but after installing the new card, whenever i start any game my PC goes shutdown, i installed the card in my friends PC which have a 750w DELL branded PSU and it worked fine on that system.

Let me tell you one more thing about the PSU, few month back i wrongly plugged the four pin connector in Mother board and my MOBO went dead, the four pin connector was also damaged, so i took a local four pin connector from market and attached that to the PSU, it was working fine with 8600GT. here is the official link of the PSU http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?product_id=2551

I have xfx 630i, my processor is c2d e7400, using single module of 2 GB ram, 2 HDD and standard casing with 2 Fans.

hmmm u have a problem of your 4pin can u provide a picture how are you using your 4pin connector after damage? coz local 4pin connector doesnt provide that much current (personal experience) one of my friend was having a same issue

The problem is with your PSU......Once you short-circuited your motherboard then also something went wrong in the PSU......now an 8600GT does not use any 6-pin connector,so the voltage provided by the motherboard would be enough for it.......but now that you have a GTS-450 and that too an OC version (which means it would drain more current than the reference version) ,you'll be using a 6-pin connector......
You gotta now see if with using both the 6-pin connectors,whether your computer shuts down or not......and if it still does,then one things clear that your PSU has been damaged and using it after that would be more likely to damage other PC components too.....The other thing is that,the wrong 4-pin pin connector that you used with your Mobo and that fried it.......it was using the same Voltage-Rail as the 6-pin connector,hence both not working now......

But as your computer still gets turned on with the GTS-450 and only shuts down when you're about to game......it means that there is Voltage going through the 6-pin connector,but the amount of Amp's in it is very less and even reduces once more Volts are required (during gaming).....

You can try to get your PSU repaired,but i suggest that just get a new one ......

you are having a issue with your psu try changing your 4pin connector may be it helps otherwise u have to change your psu in order to use gts 450

brother use a software named "hardware monitor" to check the voltage rating of the +12v rail of psu. i think its not giving full current otherwise the psu is more then enough for your setup

hwmonitor not always give true reading...mine give 8.98 only max...but in real its 12.08

cm real power have bad reputation as compare to silent pro series but they are expensive .

well guys, i plugged the PSU and the card in another system, with intel DG41RQ board and e4500 c2d processor and it went fine, I played prototype, NFS MW and COD4 on full settings for more then 1 one hour and nothing strange happened. So whats could be the problem now. I was running windows 7 on the previous system and current is XP. can it be a driver problem?

try updating bios and drivers of your mobo

HMM may be its drivers problem but i think there is some problem in bios etc. first of all reset the bios install new OS & latest drivers from product manufacturer websites and reply back

re installed the windows and latest drivers for VGA but issue is same there, now i want to update the BIOS please guide me how to upgrade xfx 630i board bios as i never done this before and on google there is no appropriate info found.

Bios Upgradation is a difficult task.. and light shouldnt be gone at the time of installtion..
Otherwise bios chip may be dead..
App apni PSU k connectors dobara check krwayen..
Aur Hardware Monitor wgera say voltages check kren saray..
