In that budget you'll have to settle with kit lens, which is equal to nothing.

Increase 10k, buy a d3200 body for 28k and 50mm prime lens for another 20k (I doubt even that will settle in 40k so just go for used one)

A cheap camera with a decent lens, that's what should be aiming for.... Buy the cheapest DSLR available, either used from someone reliable like a friend or relative, or new if you are willing to spend a little more. And with the camera, but a separate lens: A 50mm f/1.8 is a good choice..

I personally prefer Nikon, but with your budget, I'd recommend Canon. Nikon is a little pricey to start, but in a long run it's a lot cheaper. It has good lens at low price point. Plus it can run all the old lenses with out issue.

If you're spending one time and just want a good DSLR. Get Canon, but if you want to keep it as a hobby and build upon it, there is no better answer than Nikon.

For your budget:

CANON:

Camera:

Canon 1200D [Rs 32K]

Canon EOS 1200D Price in Pakistan

This one comes with 18-55 Kit lens. You can either keep the lens or ask them to remove it [if possible]. Removing the lens could save you 5-10K more

Lens:

Canon 50MM 1.8 [Rs 9K]

Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Autofocus Lens - Hashmi Photos

OR

Yongnuo 50mm 1.8 [Rs6.5K]

Yonguno 50mm f1.8 in Pakistan - Hashmi Photos

Not as famous as the Canon. but performs well for its price.

NIKON:

Camera:

D3200 Body only [Rs28K]

Nikon D3200 Body in Pakistan - Hashmi Photos

Lens:

50mm 1.8D [Rs 12K]

Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF Nikkor Lens - Hashmi Photos

Chose a brand - stick to it.

Remember - if you got the budget, keep the Kit lens [18-55mm] because it gives you wide angle focal length that can come in handy in tight indoor spaces. The Kit Lens for Nikons are pretty sharp [http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/18-55mm-vr-ii.htm]. I have no experience on the Canon Kit lens.

---EDIT---

I just read you need it for Videos. Go for Canon when it comes to video. Nikon doesn't have aperture control on the lower end models while in Live view. This is a deal breaker for video shooting.

Canon 1200D with Canon 50MM lens. Rs 41000, this also includes the 18-55mm lens.

As nikon d3200 has not builtin autofocus motor so 50mm 1.8D lens will not autofocus .. 1.8G (price= 20k)lens is required for auto focus
Being a new to this field or a even professional will prefer auto focus [emoji6]

Agreed - but he requires the DSLR for video. Autofocus is not a huge deal in video. They tend to be slow and manual focus is preferred.

Eitherway Nikon is not the answer for video since Aperture control is not available in D3xxx and D5xxx range. He'll have to dish out 50K+ to get D7100 and it does not fall in his budget.

Therefore, my recommendation is Canon 1200D with Canon 50mm lens.

Thank you for your insight

I searched about 1200D its a pretty good camera the only con is that it does not have an external mic jack which sucks i searched about 600d but company has discontinued it while 700d seems out of budget

Canon may have discontinued 600D, but you will find 600D in almost every single Pakistani store... It is a very common camera. My advise is skip 1200D. It is too shitty a camera. Either get a lower end Nikon, or buy a minimum 600D...

if you are into videography what i heard Canon has edge over Nikon
No it doesn't IMO. Canon lenses and stuff are cheaper that's why most people in PK recommends Canon. But i prefer Nikon because of better performance/price ratio of the body itself.

You want a DSLR for Videos. now that's new xD. Anyway go for a Nikon D3200 with basic lens 18-55. Will cost you around 30-32k Brand new. Get it from Authorized dealer of Nikon. That is 'CAMTRONX'

Good luck!

You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
