Bootable USB error

Right now I am using Windows XP, and I want to create a bootable USB to install windows 7!! I know how to install it but the problem I am getting is that when in cmd I type 'list disk' it only shows me the internal hard disk, not my USB.
Why is this problem? Hope you guys can help,

are you using the Windows 7 USB/DVD Tool? and while booting, plug the usb in back port of your pc, the front ports are sometimes late to receive power thus usb wont boot

You are using one of the most difficult methods to make a bootable usb.
Download Win2Flash, install it and it will do the rest for you.

Okay I tried it, this one is a good software but this copies windows files from CD/DVD! I dont have em instead I have a iso file!

just use this DAEMON Tools Lite
to mount iso file then use Win2Flash

Although Win2Flash and others do work, I think the best method is to use Rufus because it's simple, fast and effective. I have used it for installing Windows XP SP3 ( the latest ones uploaded on TPB by the gurus such as Maherz ) and have used Back-Track 5 Linux as a Live USB.

For XP rufus is best as suggested. For win7 and win8 use microsofts usb tool. Tried and tested both. Dont go for win2flash it sucks big nowadays.

win2flash + ISO Mounting Software (POWER ISO, Magic ISO etc) + Cup of tea

if you just extract the iso using winrar, then you can give win2flash the patch of that extracted folder. it works like a charm. i have done it a number of times

Why reserve a USB for windows setup. Install windows7 from its ISO using EasyBCD
