I like to believe calling one a Mohajir is exactly the same as people referring to themselves as Sindhi, Punjabi or Pushtun which is fine culturally but should remain just that.

Will i get the Sindh Domicile? NO
Will i still be discriminated against in Sindh Government institutions because im not "Son of Soil or "Ethnic Sindhi"? YES
Will i still need to bring along an Ethnic Sindhi everytime i need some Government issue resolved because im not "Son of Soil" or "Ethnic Sindhi"? YES
Will i still be referred to as Mohajir even if i tattoo the words Sindhi on my forehead? YES

Yes unfortunately we have this quota system in every damn thing, honestly speaking Pakistan abhe tak Pakistan nahe bana tou mohajir ko Pakistani na bananay Ka gila daina Mari ghalti hai.

Well i do agree with what your saying as MQMs entire politics revolves around the victimization of mohajirs and its become more like a Stockholm Syndrome for most of their supporter

this is what all mohajirs supported MQM in their initial days. They faced discrimination n they thought this party will get them their rights n in start it was all gud. But then MQM became Mutahida Qaumi Movement n not Muhajir Qoumi movement and started playing dirty politics like any other political party. They capitalize on human sentiments and now they r masters of every illegal thing in south.
I can not even imagine how these actual mohajirs might have suffered in Pakistan. U turn any stone u will find a highly neglected and discriminated people from various tribes, cities, sectarian or ethnic divides. Jahan division hoti hai in cheezon par wahan ziadatian b hoti hain. Baap ki jageer b agar aulaad umer kay lihaz say karain tou sab say chotay aur kamzor bachay ko kuch nahe milna. Thats why sometimes we need "un-natural" laws, thats why we need to re-set things. Sindhi awam agar khud mukhtar ho jaye tou sab waderon ki siasat khatam ho jaye ge but who want this to happen?

The generation which migrated was called Muhajir (because they migrated) and not their offsprings. They were all Arabs and were called Arabs.
Now sons and grandsons (daughters and grand daughters) are all Muhajirs in Sindh whereas in other parts of Pakistan they are Pakistanis and not Muhajir. Muhajir is the one who migrates and not the one who is born in Pakistan. This Muhajir name is now politicaly registered and is used politicaly.

that's because they weren't discriminated against... i have no particular affiliation or attachment to MQM, but the fact remains... before this party was created, muhajirs, even children of muhajirs were heavily discriminated against.... if you brand an entire community as "urdu-speaking" (funnily enough it's the national language of the country), you don't reserve the right to Abuses will lead to ban about it when they take on that identity themselves.... they didn't call themselves "urdu-speaking" before you slapped that logo on them....

Punjabi, Let's put it simple way If man marries with British white woman and child from her will be ethnically Pakistani (for example Zain Malik from one direction) but if Pakistani woman get married with English white man and child will not be Pakistani British....


Same in sindh if punjabi man make kids with either sindhi woman or punjabi woman his kids will be brought as Punjabi

i never mentioned a sindhi woman.... my point was that if both the husband and wife are punjabi... they have a child in, let's say, karachi.... will that child be sindhi or punjabi?

it doesn't matter where a person is born.... the ethnicity of the parents define that child's ethnicity.... if the parents were "urdu-speaking" and their kid is born in karachi, that kid won't become a sindhi by magic

the only thing that comes to mind is that Muhammad Bin Qasim launched the muslim invasion in Sindh and abolished the Hindu/buddhist culture that existed here before...

I believe situation is not very simple in Sindh and it isn't good.
